Well because FH is a mama's boy his comment was 'Something has to be done about this because thats embarressing'.. Excuse me how about you help!!!! You don't have to go to the gym right after work. Go home and clean up! I can't do everything.. I'm so annoyed and just UGH

See that's the beauty of having your own place, you can keep it how you want it and if you don't feel like cleaning you dont. She doesn't have to live there so she should just keep her yap shut. Try not to let her get at you, sounds like you have much more important things to worry about

Sometimes people just like to be negative because they are insecure with themselves. Usually the people who are always hearing negative statements from someone pick up on this. I know who of my friends exaggerates and talks crap. So hopefully whoever she is talking crap about you to knows this as well. If someone approached me to talk about another person, I would have to wonder what they said about me when i wasn't around. So all in all.... maybe these people won't listen to her at all. I'm sure anyone who knows you knows what you are going through and what type of person you are. Unfortunately you are stuck with this woman in your life for a long long long time. I don't think you will change her either. It seems this is an ongoing problem with her too. I'm sorry. Sounds just like a typical MIL from hell.

What did your FH say when she said that to him? I hope he stuck up for you and said something about all the work you do and how many hours you put in and about the issues with your mother.

The thing is. she'll say how can you keep it that way with the kids in the house.. Its not a disaster.. I have bags of laundry packed so I can bring them to the laundry mat tonight and my tile floor I couldn;t do with my mom walking around on a walker. God forbid she slips and hurts her hip again.. UGh

since it bothers her soooo much, tell her to clean it next time.

Its unfortuanate but some MIL are just this way. Things can never be good enough. In her eyes you will never live up to her expectations. So your best bet is to just ignore her. Make your FH talk to her, maybe she will back off.

I can totally relate. I just wish My MIL was as nice as yours. Mine is vicious.

The beauty about being the Queen of you house is, that you run it as you see fit. You work hard everyday and you don't have to explain anything to ANYONE! Esp not her...

I take this real personally because I pride myself on keeping a tidy house BUT yes, right now as I type, my bed is unmade and there may be a dish in the sink...I WORK every damn day so excuse me and excuse you too if you cant put on your best June Cleaver pearls, heels and apron and have a spotless house 24-7

Since she does nothing all damn day how about saying wow, she has her hands full, maybe I'll come over tomorrow and help out!
