Noreen many for you and your mom. Think of the good side of this. You don't know yet if it is anything at all. My sister had a lump in her breast and it turned out to be a fibroid. They removed it and that was that!! If it is something more then they probably found it early and with treatment your mom will be as good as new!!

Please try and stay positive. I know it sounds impossible, but the best thing you can do is stay strong for your mom and take everything one day at a time. There is as much a chance of it being benign as there is of it not!!

I'm so sorry. Try to keep your hopes up - it is very possible that it is nothing serious at all, and if, God forbid, it is - treatment does wonders these days; many women out there have beaten it and lead full and wonderful lives!! My thoughts are with you!!

Ok, first of all, you have to think positively. It can very well turn out to be non cancerous.

If it is cancerous, you have to remain calm and understand that fighting breast cancer has become easier over the years.

I'm so sorry! I know it's difficult and sounds so cliche, but please try to stay objective for now. It's very possible that the lump is something harmless. Try your best not freak out. Remember to breathe, and take things one step at a time.

As I read all these responses I actually find myself crying. Thank you so much for all the kind words, advice, and just good thoughts and intentions. You are always there for me even though I have never 'met' any of you and I truly appreciate that.

I can empathize with you totally, I lost my great grandmother in 2000, grandmother in 2001 and buried my uncle last week. All deaths were due to cancer
