I was thinking about the cash factor too. I figure you could get the same effect with scrambled eggs at the FIL's house or something.
Thats what a friend of mine did - we just had a quick brunch for any who wanted to come in the FIL's house. Just a cute but for way less.

we are ordering invites for the farewell brunch- but we are just going to put them in the OOT gift bags and then mail to family members locally. The brunch is at the hotel.

We ordered a separate brunch card to include in the invites. It will be the size of a reception card (don't need one of those since ceremony and reception are at the same place). I need for guests to rsvp to the brunch as well becuase we have to give an approximate head count the the hotel. The reply card will say: _______ will attend wedding _______ will attend brunch _______ will not attend wedding
