I JUST got back my invitation from THREE months ago as undeliverable!

Damn post office. So I sent out an invite in MAY but had the persons old address. There was no forwarding address so you would think the PO would send it back to me right???

Yeah 3 months later! Why? Theres a big arrow on the front of the envelope pointing to the upper left hand corner which is blank with a circle around it! Saying ' Return, Adressee not known!'

Oh goodness, how hard is it to turn it over and see my name printed on the top of the back of the envelope.

Its a good thing this person called my mom upset before the wedding claiming she didnt get an invite or she wouldnt have been invited.

Yeah, why wouldn't they look on the back for the return address?? It is not uncommon for ti to be there!

I dont know, but my mom just got the bridal shower invite returned today too!

Crazy Post Office, that's terrible, I guess flipping over that card is REALLy harrd!

I hear you! We have a PO Box for our mailing address, and this week we just got mail (including BILLS that have to be paid!) that was postmarked the 1st week of July!!!! Apparently the mail was rubber banded and too large to put in the mailbox, but come on, almost 2 months you had it sitting there??!! Now some of our bills are late!!

Ive had problems with them too-my dad sent me a check and it got returned 5X saying the same thing-and the address was right-the Mailman kept sending it back b/c my last name is different from the name on the mailbox!!!!

I sent my invites out in February for my May wedding and I got a returned to sender back the day I got back from my honeymoon

Oh no! Now I'm really worried...I can't believe it takes that long for them to send back lost invites! I heard from 2 people who didn't receive their invites, so I had to send other ones out. And I triple checked all invites for spelling mistakes, addresses, etc.

Furthermore, I may have to order more invites to replace lost invites in the mail because my FMIL took the extras we had as souvenirs for family members abroad!

I sent out a bridal newsletter in March 2004 to my entire BP. One of them came back in the mail this MAY, 2005. 14 whole months!

In fact I just remembered one of my guests telling me he never received our invitation and I never got it back...maybe I'll get it back in time for our 2nd anniversary!

This is why wensent out a holiday card to everyone on our invite list. i wanted to double check. Sure enough two of them came back (took two months) and then I got their updated address in time for my July wedding.

Maybe you should give your mom the returned invite so she can show the person...this way seriously no hard feelings...they can see it was sent out way back when.

We just got a wrong address/return to sender invitation that was mailed at least 6 weeks before. The invitation was to the BM (and FBIL) so it wasn't so bad that the invitation wasn't delivered on time. Apparently, FFIL gave us the old address. I still don't get why it took the post office so long to return it. It's not like FBIL lives in another country.

Had the exact same thing happen to me, to one of my dear friends!! She said she thinks the post office has a curse on her upcoming wedding because she hasn't received 3 wedding invites from weddings this year!!
