you're not out of line here, there was a reason why you wanted the new one - since it has the car seat part too.

THAAAAANK YOU! They made me feel so selfish!!! My sister said well whos going to have the baby more?? And that CRUSHED CRUSHED CRUSHED ME! I swear I wanted to cry! I HAVE to go to work. Not because I want to. I dont want to leave my baby!! But anyway, I will have a life after work again once Im off bedrest.

if daycare costs as much as you'll be paying your mom, maybe it's time to consider other options?

I would hate to see them use the baby to hurt your feelings in the future

Aww Amy....that just wasnt right of your family to say things like that to you.

If its a gift, then it goes to you.
If mom wants one, she should buy her own. Or use your old one...thats just WRONG!!!!

Um, that's just rude. If you wanted it to be at her house and car, you wouldn't have registered for it. Sometimes people just don't get it.

I say that if you can, just buy another one and let her look like an idiot. (I can't believe I am defending one of those crazy stroller/carseat combos....I am 'ideologically opposed' to them.) I know it hurts more cause it's your mom and sister...but sometimes our families are our worst enemies with their 'know what's best for you' comments.

OMG you are so right. Gifts shouldn't be given with strings attached - if it is a gift to you, you should be able to decide how to use it (and it is yours, so you should have primary usage!). That was VERY rude of her.

You want to fire back in a big way?

Tell her that her services are no longer required.

They can feel the hurt that you feel.

let me point out something (that will likely make you hate me ):

i am a 5'5', 110 pound woman, within 4 weeks of giving birth to my daughter, I was thinner than pre-pregnancy (size 8 before) at a size 0. I can't carry those things with a 10 pound baby inside because my tiny arms can't hold that much weight distributed like that...and the fact that you still have to buy another carseat at age one just makes me think, well, I should just buy one that I can keep using the whole time. I also bought a more 'economical' stroller even though a fancy/nice huge one was bought for me because I couldn't take it in and out of the car!!! now do you see why I am against them? It's not that I think no one should, but since I can't, they kind of bug me....I've also watched FMIL just about kill herself lugging the baby she watches in his because his parents didn't buy him a new carseat after he reached 20 pounds at 6 months!! (he has a regular one now...but only after she insisted...he's over a year now)
