let me point out something (that will likely make you hate me ):

i am a 5'5', 110 pound woman, within 4 weeks of giving birth to my daughter, I was thinner than pre-pregnancy (size 8 before) at a size 0. I can't carry those things with a 10 pound baby inside because my tiny arms can't hold that much weight distributed like that...and the fact that you still have to buy another carseat at age one just makes me think, well, I should just buy one that I can keep using the whole time. I also bought a more 'economical' stroller even though a fancy/nice huge one was bought for me because I couldn't take it in and out of the car!!! now do you see why I am against them? It's not that I think no one should, but since I can't, they kind of bug me....I've also watched FMIL just about kill herself lugging the baby she watches in his because his parents didn't buy him a new carseat after he reached 20 pounds at 6 months!! (he has a regular one now...but only after she insisted...he's over a year now)

hahahah! this may be going a little far but what teh heck! i'll hop in your boat! a baby will benefit more by interacting with other babies. it'll help build your babe's social skills. this is a very good reason and vaild.

perk up.. your weren't being selfish at all.

yeah um Im like WAY heavier than you, so yes, I hate you too. No J/k

I wish I had your problem, but I dont and I simply could NOT live without my travel system.

For example some days Gabe would just NOT go to sleep so Id drive him around and when he fell asleep Id just click out the carseat, take it into the house and hed sleep a little while in it. If I ever tried to take him out of the seat while sleeping hed wake up and then I was back to square one.

Thats the ONLY thinkg I dread when having a baby is the sheer exhaustion, the lack of sleep.

Your mom is being ridiculous. It was a gift. If I were you I would give her the money for the stroller tell her it's yours now and she can't use it if she's going to act this way.
