My friend Shannon lives in Colorodo. Her hubby is in the Army in Iraq. I really didn't think she would come. She kept saying she might but I figured I was just sending a courtesy invite. I figured that she is all alone in CO and would rather spend her $$ on a plane ticket to visit her family in PA. But today she emailed me that she WAS waiting to see if she could get a good deal but then she decided screw it.. I am going! I am SOOO excited. I went to grad school with her and haven't seen her since our friends wedding 2 years ago. A bunch of my grad school friends should be there so it will be a mini-reunion!!
I am so happy I could cry!
ETA: the reason I found out tonight (a sunday- no mail) is that she lost her response card and was responding by email! I am sooo HAPPY!! Did I mention that?

Thats awesome! Isn't it the best feeling to find out that people you didn't expect to come are making the extra effort to be there?! I love it!

That's wonderful - I'm hoping my dearest friends that I don't get to see too often anymore will have the same attitude and just say 'screw it, I'm going!'

I had that with a few of my friends from college. It meant so much to me that they made the effort to come! What a great feeling.
