I just had a fight w/my dad - UPDATE

*******UPDATE: my mom came home and my dad told her what happened so she called me right away to tell me that he didnt mean any of the things he said xpt the HM thing (they both felt bad that me and FH are going right away instead of spending the time with them - I just wish they told me right away about it, and now I feel so bad)

both her and my brother yelled at my dad, and he feels horrible for the way things came out

so we all are cool with each other once again

I'm sorry, Reg...I'm thinking maybe he said these things because he's displacing his emotions about his daughter getting married...his little girl is growing up and starting a new part of her life...he probably didn't mean any of it

Wow, maybe your dad is under some stress....Especially, if your dad and you never fight, you know sometimes when people feel stressed they lash out the ones closest to them.

I was never my dad's little girl, we were always more buddies, so i dont think that is what it is. I just think his sister brain washed him (he used words that she said to me) - I love her dearly she is awesome, but I know that she got VERY upset my parents are going on that trip instead of coming to visit her

more than anything I got hurt by his comment about getting sick of them and wanting to be rid of them. we all havent seen each other more than a yr and a half
so how can he even say THAT?????

my theory:
im sure he would prefer to stay with you than go on that trip. he's probably trying to rationalize it in his mind, so he's telling you you'll be sick of him so he doesnt feel so bad about leaving his family.

oh girl don't worry. Your dad is feeling the wedding pressure. My dad and I never fight also, and I noticed that we had more fights during this planning than we ever did.

Don't worry, let him cool off and call later and talk about it. Trust me, its normal...

aw reg, he is most likely feeling the wedding stress to - it prob hit him that his little girl is getting married! he will come around!
