FH and I are both in education, so i was thinking, would it be too tacky to do like a school supply type favor, with maybe pencils, pens, rulers, etc.
i know this is probably really dumb, but it's the first creative thing i've ever come up with... so humor me

i don't think it's dumb at all - if they were really classy supplies, not like a bic pen, i think it would be really cute.

I think pencils with your names on them would be really cute, so would a ruler.
Kids can get crayons...

I'm a librarian and I'm doing little books. Have you seen some of the nice office supplies out there? You can always do something like a Cross pen too.

My cousin did this years ago. It was a white and silver pen, had a wedding bell logo on it with
Tracey and David March 17, 1992 (or whatever their wedding date was)

hmm, i'm thinking i could do the pen and maybe 2 pencils, and tie it with a ribbon, maybe put it in cellophane or something...
it's something everyone could use - and it wouldn't be too expensive

I think it is a cute idea. My Fh and I are both finishing up dental school right and are planning on giving out small travel bags with toothbrushes (with our names and wedding date on them), toothpaste, floss, and mouthwash in the bag as one of our favors!
I think favors should be fun and something you can use!

YAY! so I'm not completely off my rocker
Maybe I could find cute little erasers that are wedding related too...
Just need to run this by fh (and the overly traditional mother ) and hopefully I'll be able to seriously look into this!

Go with it Deb! I think its a great idea. I was going to do the pens for STD and there are many great sites out there that do promotional items likes pens, pencils, etc. DO NOT go to wedding sites that do it; it is so much more expensive.

Deb- i LOVE that idea...i think its sooo cute
also, for my bridal shower, my mom had pencils made up that said 'Janine's Bridal Shower November 27th, 2004'- they were white pencils and had two wedding bells at the top that jingled (if you want, i can find out where she got them... im sure she got them for a good price)
ALSO- Jan05Brides friend did something similar (they were both teachers)... they even went so far as to replace the limo with a Yellow School bus!!! for them and the whole bridal party. we should try to find that post, i remember it had a few 'teachery' things in it
