I just made my donation...

to St. Jude's Hospital in memory of my dad. It was one of his favorite organizations. It was so weird and hit me hard, when the woman said I'm so sorry for your loss and congratulations on your up coming wedding. Two very different statements in the same sentence. I'm sitting hear stunned and wanting to cry. The closer the wedding gets, the more emotional my mom and I are getting. I hope we can keep it together that day.

I'm so sorry! St. Jude's is such a great charity though!

What a great thing to do. I am happy for you, but reading your post got me teary eyed. I am sure it was a very nice but rough thing to do.

I totally understand..we are donating to Susan G. Komen breast cancer in memory of my mom...as each day approaches the more emotional I get also... out of the blue it hits ya!!

thanks ladies! sometimes it's comforting to know you are not alone in certain situations, but it stinks for all of us just the same. it's weird how it hits at the strangest times! i hope we all make it through as best as we can.

I truly understand. My dad died a few years ago and sometimes I feel so emotional - I don't want to be a blthering mess on my wedding day. Our donation favor is to the American heart Association - both (mine & FH) our dad's died from heart attacks way too young.

that's exactly what happened to mine. heart attack while playing basketball, his favorite thing in the world that he did twice a week! go figure! ok, i can't talk about that anymore. just know they will be with us that day. hugs for both of you!

Ha...I'm the same way! My father used to call me 'pissy eyes'. One of my cousin's is the same way and we were cracking up talking one night because she remembers him always saying that. I don't want to be a mess that day either...I think as it gets closer it's going to sneak up on me.

Aw...

St. Jude's is one of my favorite too. But, for the wedding, I want to make one to Memorial Sloan Kettering because they took such good care of my father. And, I would like to make one to the American Heart Association because I lost my nephew and my FH's mother to heart disease.
