Hi everyone, I recently got engaged (12/27) and my FH and I decided to not talk wedding until the summer...until i spoke to a couple of friends who got married and checked the message boards... now im freaking out! I need some help with timelines...when did everyone start all the planning(rh, eparty, etc...). I'm going to be a teacher and will hopefully have a job so I'm thinking 8/22 or 8/23/09 for the wedding. any help is greatly appreciated.

1st congratulation 2nd relax we all go through that freak out moment . I got engaged in april and I start planning in jul and didnt booked until Sept... I had a specific date in mind that is why I booked so early from my wedding.. just take it one day at a time and enjoy your engagment... My only recomendation is that if you want a summer wedding dont wait until the summer to start looking, the summer is the most popular time to get married specially saturdays.. GL

got engaged in july and 'started planning,' which really just means obsessing over the fantasy of it all & booking our rh, in october after the e-party. i'm looking @ photographers in january and saving EVERYTHING else for summer, as i am a teacher too and would rather deal with things one at a time so i can enjoy the process. don't sweat it

thanks everyone again...me and FH talked settled on type of wedding and wedding date (8/23).. and today im off to the bookstore to get bookclub book (ill catch up) and some sort of planner..any suggestions on which one to get?

dont freak out..u have plenty of time to plan,,,just try to do one thing at a time...church...hall...dj...flowers ..etc...good luck

Take your time...and dont rush into anything because you feel pressured. Oh and dont go by my timeline...i got engaged last monday and by wednesday had my hall and church done. Only reason was bc i wanted to be positive i had the date i wanted. Now i can relax for a little. GOOD LUCK. you will be fine
