I know the feeling. We sort of mentioned that we were THINKING about hosting X-mas since we are in our new house, and the IL's think it's a wonderful idea. I think we've locked ourselves in!! AHHHH

That's the one good thing about living in VA when most of the family is in NY... don't have to worry about hosting big family events

You will be fine. I told my parents as soon as I move into my house we would have New Years Day! By the looks of it we wont be in for this New Years but of '06 I think I have to start 'cooking'.

I don't know if this is good or bad, but I probably won't be 'able' to host a family holida because MIL does all the big ones and she would flip at the idea of it being at my house instead of hers.
