I'm sorry hun

One of my best friends was in the same situation you are. She was unemployed for over a year. She just kept putting her resume out and went on interviews. She finally got a job last week thats part time (17 hours a week).

My advise is don't let it get you down!
Keep looking.... and say positive!

You will find something.

Re: i just want to cry

I know how you feel.... I friggin' hate my job and have been searching for over 2 years!!!!

I'm happy to have a job, but I'm miserable more often than not and am thinking unemployment is looking good - FH agrees that I'd be better off on unemployment and looking fulltime but I'm not ready for that with the Wedding and all.

If you find a job let me know... I need one too!!

Don't cry - you'll get something I'm sure... you could come work with me and be miserable if you wanna

Re: i just want to cry

OOOH OOOH I know like 3 people who work for a company called FRR Recovery in Melville...

...they are a 3rd party biller but if you have billing experience I'm sure they'd love to hear from you - I have absolutely NO experience and they called me for an interview... but I didn't take it (I know.. stupid)

They are ALWAYS looking for people... you should give them a call if you wanna - umm I don't have their number but I'm sure you can google it... or FM if you can't find it cause I can get it for you

Best of Luck!!!!!!

edited for a typo

So sorry to hear this Keri. I hope things start looking up for you.

I will be looking for a job in a few months as graduation is approaching. From everyone I have talked to, it seems it isn't going to be easy.

I thnk alot of people are suffering from this. FH has been trying to get out of his job forever and we think that the only option is to go back into the family business with construction, etc.... He would make triple that way... and then we realized... no one hires americans anymore
So the diocese of brooklyn tablet it is for now

Re: i just want to cry

what type of job are you looking for? My job is almost always looking for new hires...right now it's a bit crazy with the whole NYSE ordeal but otherwise I would tell you to submit your resume if you're interested in compliance/diligence/finance/marketing.
I'm sure you'll find something soon!

i totally know how you are feeling. I'm so depressed today because i can't find anything. I have been unemployed for a month and it's already starting to get to me. I prob.. Sent out 30 resumes a day and nothing. I feel so defeated I keep hoping that something will turn up, but it's really hard right now.

Re: i just want to cry

I work for Stony Brook. I don't know how close you live. And I get the job postings every monday. There are a TON of clerk positions available. You can't just send your resume in once. It will get lost in the shuffle. SB is constantly hiring.

Also, try Civil Service. It's not instant gratification, but, once you're in, you'll pretty much have a job for a long, long time.

Good luck!

Re: i just want to cry

As a matter of fact, I KNOW my department is looking for a Front Desk Clerk. It is only Part Time though. If anyone is interested in PT work, it's listed on the Stony Brook jobs site in the Neurology dept.
