I just want to say....

I should clarify....my RH did NOT make me do this at all. They were great in recommending someone if I asked, but didn't force a thing. I have come across this happening to other girls though at RH's on LI (both Nassau and Suffolk) and it makes me angry for them!!!! So, I had to vent for them.

Actually, I believe my Banquet Manager told me this. This is the exact reason why vendors are required to carry such high insurance policies. i would be wary of any RH in Nassau or Suffolk that says that you HAVE to use their house vendors.

I was a W'chester bride; my RH definitely didn't have that restriction, we could use ANY vendor... But I know there's an LI hall that only allows flowers by Stefan's or Spitz & Peck? I recall seeing a lot of posts about that.... I think Water's Edge in LIC has the same requirement, 2 brides I know there used Spitz&Peck and I vaguely recall they may not have had a choice.
Its a lousy policy and for me, personally, it would be a dealbreaker!!

it probably is bc i never heard of LI doing this. THe only time ive heard of Rh's doing this is in westchester and from what i've seen almost all westchester RH's do this

I know floral terrace has a policy about florists, but you have like 3 choices...and one is pedastals...which is reasonable.

I think it is ridiculous when catering halls demand you use one of their vendors. I've read a lot of posts where girls have 2 choices of, say flowers, to chose from and they really don't want either or want to make sure they are getting a good deal! Whatever happened to freedom of choice? Preferred vendors are one thing but mandatory is just rude! Just had to vent on behalf of all you out there!
