My mom just calls me AT WORK to tell me that my sister showed my father the tuxes she bought for my nephew's (RB's). Keep in mind, they are 8 and 4 years old and will NEVER wear these again. So they bought tuxes at Tri-County - pants, jacket, vest, shirt, bowtie, for $45 each.
Well my dad says they're garbage, cheap, and look like sh!t on them. Says no one wears vests anymore.......um the freaking GM's are wearing vests and I expect him to wear one too! Says they should return them and get Oleg Cassini ones at Syms.....those are $60 each NOT including the vest, bowtie or shirts.
Why the F do an 8 year old and a 4 year old need brand name tuxes?????
ETA: I realize that this is miniscule, but I'm freaking exhausted and have a huge headache and I just want to go home. So this is not helping.

No one wears vests anymore? That's news to me! What do they wear then? This sounds a bit ridiculous, I'm sure the kid's tux's look fine! I'm sorry you're dealing with this!

i cant imagine that they look so bad. those tuxes didnt look so bad in the store. sure they may not match the GMs tuxes but who cares?!?!?!

Because that's how he is. He has to put his two cents into everything. He's not even paying for the friggin tuxes and has the nerve to say that.
My dad is weird about clothes. He LOVES to shop and granted he knows his suits and tuxes (used to wear them to work everyday for over 30 years). But they're for freaking children! They don't need brand name or high quality. They're going to grow out of them in like a week anyway!
What's even more annoying is now tonight I'm going to have to call him and remind him that HE needs to be wearing a vest too. He went and BOUGHT his own damn tux even after I told him to just go to Men's Wearhouse with FH and rent one to match. But NO.
