I knew this would happen... (dress related)

I knew this would happen... (dress related)

Ok so yesterday was the second time I went out dress shopping. I have gone to a total of 4 shops and probably tried on 40-50 dresses at least! Not one that I put on did I head over heels fall in love with. I really like 3 but neither of those 3 give me goosebumps. You know what I mean? I'm starting to feel really discouraged. I have another appointment at another shop on 6/15.

I am starting to worry that I am not going to LOVE any! I want to put on a dress & not want to take it off! By the end of the day yesterday I was just so overwhelmed and frustrated, I left exhausted & with a massive headache.

So basically this is just me ranting but I want to know did everyone who has got their dress already cry, get goosebumps, know its the one, etc.? I feel like I'm supposed to cry, jump up and down, I dunno....get more excited then I have with the ones I've tried on.

Someone please cam my nerves! haha

Maybe you are doing too much and the pressure is getting to you? Can you take a short break from dress shopping to rethink, reorganize and regroup? Sometimes we put so much pressure on ourselves to make sure everything is perfect and done in a 'timely manner' that we end up not enjoying the process. Maybe you can move that 6/15 appointment back one more week. Try not to think about dresses until then and then take your time when you go? I can't speak from experience, as I am going dress shopping for the first time later this month, but I just know that the 'pressure' of wedding related things can definitely bring on the stress and maybe that is affecting you?

Or maybe I'm crazy and talking out of my butt lol either way, hang in there!

Think of the positives you now know what kind of dress you don't want. You will find one that you love.

Don't worry, you will know when you find it. I did not cry at all when I found my dress, surprisingly, and I am an emotional person. I did know it was the one because I didn't want to take it off. To this day I want to go back and just put it on again. Everyone has a different experience, and you be aware that a dress may need to be accessories or changed slightly for you to fall in love with it!

I got the whole crying, goosebumps, b.s. and wound up having an anxiety attack 15 minutes after I bought it, ridiculous dress regret every day after - literally crying myself to sleep every single night.

I went shopping again two months after and tried on about 4 dresses. I had that same goosebumps, crying feeling...then realized I still had one more dress in the fitting room. I tried it on just to get it out of my system. Within 30 seconds my mind completely changed and it was like the heavens parted and that was it. I couldn't believe I liked any other dress before this one. My best decisions are always impulses. (And I didn't cry or get goosebumps, I just looked in the mirror and calmly knew that was the dress I was meant to get married in.)

While it’s advisable to try many dresses, it’s not also good that you try too many because this can cause wedding dress overload and you’ll be more confused and stressed out. Before you go dress shopping, do a little more research first and figure out what wedding dress you really like. Visit several bridal websites. You don’t have to go with those in trend. Find the dress you feel you are most beautiful.

This is exactly how I felt too! Neither myself or my mother cried but we both looked at each other and knew that was the dress I was supposed to get married in! I just felt like myself in the dress. Many brides feel like they have to cry and jump and down when they found their dress but in reality many don't. I think we are pressured to feel like since all the wedding shows show the bride reacting this way!

I'm a very emotional person and when I tried on my dress, I didn't cry at all. I just kind of looked in the mirror, saw how great it complemented my body and was like 'That's it, I found it!'.

I picked a dress that looked great on me, but I didn't cry or anything. I just said 'I really like this one' and my mom said 'if you like it, don't look at any other dresses because you'll confuse yourself' so i just bought it. I went back to try it on again 2 weeks ago so I can pick out some veils and I loved it even more this time. I couldn't be happier with my decision.

You have to remember though: if you like one and it looks great, just buy it and DO NOT look around anymore. There will always be 5349587934875 more dresses just like the one you picked, so you just have to be happy with knowing that although there are thousands more out there, you picked a dress that looks amazing on you!

I think everyone has a different reaction. There were two dresses I was tossing between (mom cried when I put one of them on and then later told me she did not really like it. Everyone told me if I was tossing between 2 dresses then neither one is 'the one' and I would know when I put it on. When I put 'the one' on I could totally picture myself at my wedding and everything coming into place. I didn't cry but I had a huge smile on my face and just felt sooo fantastic in the dress!!!

Do you have an idea of a type of dress you want?

I definitely didn't cry because I'm not a cry-type but I couldn't stop smiling and I have pictured in my head, me in the dress, at our wedding ever since so I know it's the one!

I just really liked my dress and knew it was the one I should get married in. I'm a very emotional person but I didn't cry about it, I just felt great and was like 'cool another check!' Lol!

I didn't cry, but I'm not the type to cry over a dress. I was frustrated, like you, but I just have less patience when it comes to trying things on. I tried on maybe 20-ish dresses in total over the past year. This weekend though, I went into the shop knowing exactly what I was looking for and luckily, they had it.

Do you have a vision of what you want yours to look like, or do you at least now have an idea of what style you're looking for?

Well yes & no. I know I like lace, and silk organza. I am open to strapless or keyhole back. I don't like toole and no silver beading. I like pearls. No mermaid. I like A-line & fit & flare. ugh! lol

You should go to Pronovias then- they specialize in lace gowns, and even though you don't like tulle, I would still try on those gowns because tulle is super easy to remove. But anyway Pronovias has tons of lace gowns with pretty straps and keyholes, and they are really affordable too

Aww!! Don't get discouraged. Did you put everything on? Veil, jewelry, headpiece with the dress? I tried on a few dresses like 10 and noticed I kept going back to dress # 2 (which was one I ended up buying) I really liked it but I didn't get goosebumps and cry in it UNTIL I put EVERYTHING ON. Seeing it as a whole made me emotional and I knew it was the one then.

Don't worry! It will happen and you will find that dress! I went to 5 stores and tried on over 40+ dresses before finding the dress by chance! Good luck.
