I am freaking out that I'll only have like 20 people show. I mean just between the two of us we came up with 50 we'd invite. I know I haven't asked his mother yet... but even with hers.. and all those other friends I can possibly imagine. I'm still only around 60-80 invites.. with a 20% rejection rate.. that's around 50? The room is set for 100 (I mean i paid a min of 100) and I guess I can set it for less.. but I'll feel kinda crappy if less than 50 show up.

Is that selfish of me?

its not selfish...but dont worry! its WHO you want there ...not how many! long island makes you feel like weddings have to be huge...but all in all..most people invite their closest loved ones and celebrate. be happy youll save money too!

Dont freak out!! We HAVE to pay for 75 people..so first we were trying to come up with people just to cover that 75..but we REALLY want a small wedding..just very close friends and close family..and now we will most likely pay for 75 and not have that many. We both have a ton of family..but we dont really know half of them, so it sounds mean..but we dont really wnat em. We only want people who know us extremely well and are just as happy was we are about our wedding. It makes it that much more special to us to have it that way. Dont feel bad about how mnay people you have...FEEL GOOD about the fact that you have people to invite that you really want there!! Ofetn enough people have a ton of guests that they could care less about or didnt really want to invite but had too...smaller weddings are great because you can cut out the people you dont really want by just saying you are keepin it small. You will have a beautiful wedding, whether you have 10, 20 or 50 people!!

It is early, and you never know who you will meet before next October. Do you have friends invited with guests or are you only including the individuals in your count? I guarantee that by the time your invites go out, you'll find a way to boost your numbers. And don't feel bad about wanting a good turnout. Afterall, we wouldn't have wedding receptions if we didn't care about sharing the day with people.

Don't freak out - I'm sure you will have a LOT more than that to invite!!! You'd be surprised what your parents will come up with.

Our list was 175 when we said 'no more' and we do not even know most of these people - they were all friends of parents (we only had about 25 between the 2 of us) About 95 are able to come, most have holiday weekend plans.

Don't worry, it will be fine!!

Its not selfish of you, I am in the exact same position as you. We are inviting between 60 and 80 people and our reception room can hold a little over 100. What I am hoping since we are mostly inviting close friends and familiy is that the rate of people that cannot come will be less than 20%.
