What are you all doing with checks that people send with their RSVP's that can not come to the wedding? Are you cashing them before he wedding? I know it would annoy me if my check wasn't cashed for over a month. Also are you sending out thank you cards as you receive the gifts or are you waiting till after to send all the thank o's together? Or send a thank you now and another thank you after the wedding?
If your sending a thank you card before the wedding what do you write in it thank you all in advance. It's been a long last 2 Weeks and my mind is shot I can't remember simple wedding etiquette

Re: i know this has been asked before but.......
Cash them sooner then later, you don't want someone to have to deal with an uncashed check. Just don't spend the $$ because if god forbid you don't make it to the alter you have to give it back.
Etiquette says you should send them a thank you right away. However, the people who wrote etiquette didn't have special thank yous made up with their wedding photo on it. I will personally wait until I have my Thank You cards and send theirs with everyone elses. I would want them to have my pretty wedding thank you cards with our picture on it even more then the people who were there and saw us that day.

Re: i know this has been asked before but.......
i have a box of white thank you cards with the 'thank you' in silver i can use i'm pretty excited since this is our first wedding gift (sad i know) It was very exciting to open that little envelope and see a check I hear a lot of other people getting them in their rsvp's but never ever thought we would ever have this 'situation' LOL i hope that made sense well a little bit at least

I would cash the check now. It pisses me off to NO end when a check I wrote isn't cashed and throws off my balance. And FH waits like a year to cash checks from my grandma sometimes, it annoys me so much! And I would send a thank you then, and if you're getting photo cards after the wedding, send a second one like thank you again for your generous gift for our wedding, etc.

Cash em as you get em!
No one likes to have lingering balances carrying over in their checkbooks. It usually messes people up!!!!
That's coming from someone who works for a bank. When I worked in a branch I saw it first hand!

im cashing them when i get them bceause i dont want to mess with peoples bank accounts ... but i am going to wait until i get our picture thank you cards to send them a card ... my mother just told me that i should really send them a favor as well since most people sending checks are sending nice amounts ... i guess ill worry about that when i come home after the honeymoon

a. I'm cashing them now
b. I'm sending a thank you now ' Thank you so much for the generous wedding gift. We are sorry to hear we wont be able to celebrate with you, but hope to see you soon!'
c. I'll be sending an official picture thank you after the wedding also.
