I know this is a disgusting topic, but I will post anyway...

Original post by nrvbrd

Firstly my question is- Do you do #2 while you are at work in the public bathroom?

If so do you bring lysol with you?

I just came out of the bathroom and it was very obvious that someone did this. The odor is very offensive.

Is this not an unspoken rule to sanitize the bathroom after you use it?

I used to sit right outside the bathroom & get that - but promptly told whoever actually had the nerve to ask that I wasn't a bathroom monitor and don't poll people on their way out. It's nature get over it and please use air freshener

Sometimes it can't be helped but I am definately a fan of the 'courtesy flush'. It really does make a difference.

I forgot about that! I used to sit next door to the bathroom too at my old job. The walls were so thin in addition to the noises, I could hear them spraying the Lysol when they were done to confirm it!

Ok I say if you feel the need and are close to home, go in comfort of your own home. Again, I worked in a place where a lot of older people shopped and let me tell you they have no shame going in public restrooms. I have a million gross stories for you but I will spare you.

I have had to clean up other peoples #2 because they exploded all over and DO NOT clean it up. (no one can stomach it and the cleaning lady went home) I don't know if they think that the back of toilet seat is target practice or something. We winded up clsoing the one restroom to the public because it just got so bad.

But everyone just follow this rule:

if you sprinkle while you tinkle please be neat and wipe the seat

if you do a number two just think someone will sit here after you......

Thank you ladies, for making me laugh. I needed it!

I'd just like to add that besides walking through a poo-cloud, there's nothing worse than walking into a stall and finding a floater or other debris on the inside of the toilet!!

I know what you mean but sometimes you just gotta do #2

We keep lysol in the bathroom at work. People use it when needed. It's polite to do.

The way I figure is that it's natural and that people can get sick from holding it in for too long and that we're all adults so if you're going to do #2 in public then do it and spray afterwards.

What I think is gross is that sometimes some men at my firm bring a newspaper that is routed from person to person into the bathroom with them. HOW GROSS - other people touch the paper afterwards. If you're dying to read in the loo then bring you own freaking paper in not one that others read too.

I wish I read this when I was at work today! THis has got me cracking up!!!

My office is very small, and we have 2 bathrooms....and my seat is not far from the bathrooms, so I hear all the noise, and the lysol...that smell is much much worse than just leaving the fan on and closing the door...ewww..and they are nasty at work....dripping on the floor...and sharing too much info about periods, #2, etc...one girl was telling he she had Irritable Bowel Syndrome...I was like....

Just a note, I have IBS. It isnt fun. Its humilating and makes you feel like you don't belong in public.

I'm not sure I'd share that with the lady sitting next to the can who can hear me. I'd think I'd run out as fast as possible hoping you couldnt see me. I'd be so ashamed.

I know I can't help my health issues, but I damn well try. People always think Im a veggie gal since I dont eat pork, chicken, fried meat or other fatty foods at the office. I do it to keep me from being embarassed.

ETA: Come to think of it, if I Knew someone could hear me everytime I went and I had IBS (which I do) I'd start smoking again, just to have an excuse to get out of the office and find somewhere else to go if I 'had' to.

I know you didnt mean to offend anyone and still don't think she should have 'shared' that wil you. WAY too much information. Tell her to get help.

Sometimes you just gotta go. My job has the air freshners in the Ladies room. I know that some of the ladies I work with checks to see if anyone needs to go before they do.

I only do this when I have no other choice, and when I do I always use the courtesy flush. There have been times when I have sprayed binaca (mouth spray) to cover the scent. I haven't found a portable lysol container to fit in my purse yet

this is a very funny topic. we have no men in my office, and the light switches are on the outside of the bathroom, so if the light switch is on in the ladies room we respect each others 'privacy' and use the mens room. we also have lysol, and i would also like to mention that this totally not an issue for men! they go where ever they darn feel like going. i also agree about the paper. at my old job a guy was notorious for doing this, just groooosss. get your own darn newspaper!!
