Firstly my question is- Do you do #2 while you are at work in the public bathroom?

If so do you bring lysol with you?

I just came out of the bathroom and it was very obvious that someone did this. The odor is very offensive.

Is this not an unspoken rule to sanitize the bathroom after you use it?

OMG!!! This is too much!

Without giving away too much info....

I've always had a thing about not doing #2 in public. I suppose sometimes, though, you can't help it.

I'm not sure it's practical to carry a can of Lysol with you all the time, though...

Public bathrooms should have Glade sprays in every stall!!

KMC- I guess you are right about the carrying of lysol, but I am going to talk to housekeeping about putting air freshner in the bathroom.

Our office keeps air freshener in the bathroom for this reason.

Definitely poo-shy here. If I absolutely have to, I will find a deserted bathroom or wait until one is free.

People just need to learn to 'mercy flush', then it won't smell so bad. We've got a particularly cruel offender in my area of the building... it's horrible!!

Light a match or save your waste for when you get home

I'll only go if the bathroom is empty. Our bathrooms have air fresheners too, but sometimes they just don't work. One time I walked into the bathroom and I swear, it was as if I walked right into a cloud of someone's fresh poo stink. It was so bad that I high-tailed it right out of there!

LOL!! I agree, and I try and do my #2 business at home, but sometimes, while at work 8-10 hours and day and through 2 or 3 meals, I just can't help but to have to use the facilities...

In that case, I wait for it to be empty and the flusher is my best friend. And the can of glade gets a small squirt to freshen the air (i.e., lightly freshen).

However, let me tell you what gets me worse than smelling someone's after-effects of #2. Those who use the can of glade like it's an fire extinguisher. The potent smell of the Glad/Lysol is sometimes much worse and could kill me faster than anything!

I have a thing with doing anything in a public restroom, but my job is small and the people are clean....what about those automatic air freshners that spray at specific time intervals???

They have the automatic airfreshners at my job, and it doesnt do justice....I try to hold the #2's for when I am at home....

The only public restroom I do '#2' in is at work. When you have to go, you have to go. And since we all go '#2', I don't see a problem with it.

My problem is with the women who don't FLUSH after '#2' an/or while they are menstruating. DIS. GUSTING.

Isn't it the worst when you walk out of a smelly bathroom and someone is going in and they think you were the smelly one

I go when I have to, where I have to. I have suffered with times when I couldn't go and times when I couldn't stop going, I have learned that when my body tells me 'take me to the bathroom' it doesn't matter if it is on the LIRR. I would rather go in a nasty bathroom than risk getting sick.

We don't have spray, but we have a good ventilation system so it isn't that bad.

Unfortunately I have no choice on when I go.

Our place has auto fresheners as well. Smells like an overdose of cranberry flowers and Lysol. Not exactly appealing on it’s own. It’s SO strong too!

I agree with the courtesy flush. I’ll take the gross one step further, WIPE and flush ladies. PLEASE! It’s so annoying to walk in and hear the flush then start to smell a lingering. Ewwwww.

I usually am a ‘camper’ if the need is great and I have to go, I’ll wait until no one is around. I also never ‘linger’ in a bathroom if a stall has been closed and quiet for awhile. I figure someone else needs their ‘time’. I hate when a woman knows a person (me) is waiting and they brush their teeth, do their make up, their hair and then wash their hands and even fuss with their clothes. I’m like “LEAVE ALREADY!”

I asked my DH if men have this problem.

He’s like “Uh, no we just go, it’s a natural thing of life, if you don’t like the smell, go somewhere else”. Gotta love how men simplify this stuff. He says if he sees a stall in use he knows someone’s going. Or if he sees a guy walk in with a paper. Guys don’t usually linger in a bathroom anyway.

What’s gross are those who are a little ‘too’ open about their natural business. I was working part time at this one place and when I went to go wee I heard this lady giving it all she had to push one out. I felt so embarrassed. I pissed as fast as I could washed my hands and ran. I dried them later with some paper towels I found in the break room. I knew this lady. I mean I followed her to the bathroom. She came back all happy and was like “hey what’s up?”. How awkward. I know it’s natural but I don’t want to hear it, see it or smell it, thank you very much.

Mine smells like roses so I don't have this problem!

YEAH RIGHT! JUST KIDDING.

Well if you must know I wait until its empty. I'm kind of shy about it. LOL!

A few years back....I was sitting in my cube and one of te client service people came over to my cube and asked me if he could borrow my new crutchfield magazine that just came in the mail. I said ok...no problem, just please return it when your done because I havent seen it yet.

Well 20 minutes or so later, I was walking towards the bathroom, and he walks out smiling...with my crutchfield in his hand. He walked by me and said hi.

Later I got back to my cube and there was the crutchfield, laying on my desk. I picked up a paper towel, and grabbed the magazine and threw it out.

How rude was that? I was going to go over to him and say something, but I didnt see risking my job over this.....
