Am I the only one on this site not having their wedding in Long Island? My church and reception are both in Brooklyn. I was recommended this site by so many Brooklyn girls, so I was just wondering. My Fh is from LI and we did look at a few places out there for our reception, but decided to pick something a little closer to home, since so many of our guest live in the Brooklyn/Staten island area. Or are there any other girls from Brooklyn on this site?

I think there are lots of girls from Brooklyn and the city as well. LIWeddings.com also has a NYC sit, NYCityWeddings.com and the chat boards are shared.
Where in Brooklyn are you getting married?

I have the opposite situation. I don't live in LI, I live in Westchester. My finace was the one who found this site for me. In fact, I think somewhere's there's stupid portfolio he made up. He talked himself up so much, it's actually pretty funny! lol!

My recception and ceremony is in Queens. My mother made a bit of a stink, and said that LI was too far for all my family in jersey, and brooklyn.

I'm from Staten Island. Our church was in Howard Beach and our reception was in LI. Siricos is great. My brother had his engagement party there. Great Choice
I decided to get married out on LI because there were so many options available to us out there. Besides, hardly any of my family and friends live here anymore...so they would have had to travel anyway.
Sirico's is a wonderful place...I've heard so many things about it...I've never been, but my sister has been to a wedding there and she loved it.

I'm planning from Chicago but my whole family is from brooklyn. They'll be driving to Suffolk county Saturday of Labor Day weekend. I figure how many times do I get married.

Its great to know I am not the only Brooklyn girl on here. Thanks for all the votes for sirico's. My sister got married there and we loved the food , the place and the service. I knew there where some Queens girls on here, but I wasn't sure if there were any Brooklyn brides here. Thanks ladies.

I live in Brooklyn, but am getting married in Long Island. Most of our guests are in Brooklyn or Long Island, and we just didn't care for any of the halls in Brooklyn.
