I know this is silly

On what side of the groom does the Bride sit at the head table? Thanks!

Im not sure but I know the bride sits with the odd#'d tables and the groom sits with the even. I believe that would make the bride on the left and the groom on the right?? ( if you were looking at them that is)

I never thought about it - is it a standard thing? I sat on his right but we just walked over and sat down - the BM didn't tell us where to sit and we didn't put any thought into it.

If you are standing in front of the table looking at yourself, your were on his right? I'm just trying to figure out where to put the other 7 people at the table.

I know, I put too much thought into everything and make myself nuts!

Yikes, now I'm getting confused! LOL!

Looking at the table, I was on the left side and he was on the right side.

Does it depend at all which side the bride's family is on?

Good question... definitely NOT silly!
I would think that whatever side the bride & groom stand in the church or at the ceremony & whatever side the families of the bride & groom sit at the church or ceremony would be the same for inside the reception hall.

Does that make sense??

definitley not silly- i was trying to figure this out yesterday but i just found this site after your question (note its from the U.K.- but I guess it would be the same in U.S.?- not sure) the article is long but it's in there ('top table seating arrangements)'

hope this helps...http://www.weddingguide.co.uk/articles/reception/seatingarrangements.asp

I'd sit closer to my family, which would be the right, but that's just the way our tables worked out.
