We want to put both sets of parents on our invites (which I am working on right now) however, Brian's father is remarried (mom is deceased.) I am trying to figure out the correct way of wording the invite. as of right now these are the two options I have . . .

1)

Mr. and Mrs. Louis XXXX
request the honor of your presence
at the marriage of their daughter
Brianne Kimberley XXXX
to
Brian Keith XXXXX
son of
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald XXXX
on Sunday, the tenth day of July
Two thousand and five
at three o’clock in the afternoon
Infant Jesus Parish
Main Street
Port Jefferson, New York

2)

Mr. and Mrs. Louis XXXX
request the honor of your presence
at the marriage of their daughter
Brianne Kimberley XXXXX
to
Brian Keith XXXXX
son of
Mr. Ronald XXXXXX
And his wife Pamela
on Sunday, the tenth day of July
Two thousand and five
at three o’clock in the afternoon
Infant Jesus Parish
Main Street
Port Jefferson, New York

Which wording do you think is better, since this is Brian's step-mother? Do you have any other suggestions?

TIA!!!

How long has she been his step mom?
Are they close?
is Dad helping pay? or
Are Dad and Step mom helping to pay?

my parents are paying for the wedding reception and my attire and my shower, fh dad and wife are paying for the DJ and rehearsal dinner. We are paying for the remainder

they are close- they have been married for 11 years, but there is no replacement for his mother of course . . .

ok one website says you can do it like this;
When you list them, it should appear as such
Groom's Mothers Name
Groom's Father and Wife name

I think this is the best one. YOu also honor his mother. I don't like the wording.....

'and his wife, Pamela' JMO

we were told by family that since she passed on more than 14 years ago that it would be a bit strange to put her name on the invite . . .

we went with mr. and mrs. but might do them over . . .

It's his mother and he wants to respect the woman who created him. It is MORE than acceptable to put it on the invitation if he so wishes.

Wow, I am surprised that people said that. I mean, it's his mother that we're talking about not some distant relative.

I think it should say:

Mr. and Mrs. Grooms Father
and the Late Mrs. Grooms Mother

(we had so much trouble with invite wording, for various reasons, that we left off ALL names, but put a dedication to DH's father on our wedding program)
