I know this will sound stupid...

but, I don't know how to make a simple garlic & oil sauce for pasta... pls help!

It's really easy...

All you have to do is put some oil(I always use a extra virgin olive oil-you can't beat the flavor)
in a pan and let it get really hot...then drop full garlic cloves our sliced garlic cloves into the oil and let it brown. You can add a little hot pepper (flakes) to it as well.

I usually leave a little of the pasta water in the pasta-then pour the oil and garlic over pasta...mix and eat!

**I make my own flavored oil...I take Olive oil and fresh garlic (crushed) and put them in a bottle together and let in sit for a few days...the oil takes on all the garlic flavor

BTW, how much oil should I use?

The amount of oil should be determined by how much pasta you are making. But, you don't need too much - you just want to coat the pasta, not drown it. One tip - don't brown the garlic too much or it will taste burnt. Also, add some chopped parsley to the oil right before you are going to pour the oil over the pasta. It adds a nice fresh flavor.
