Every morning this week I have woken up with a bloody nose. This morning I thought it stopped, did my makeup, left for work...Get in this morning and see someone giving me a weird look...Look at myself in my office and there is blood all over one side of my face!

OMG Beth I would have been mortified
Are you OK? I go through phases where I get a lot of bloody noses, if the apartment is too dry and I'm having some sinus problems -- is this common for you to get them so often?

Yes, thank you, though I shouldn't have bothered putting on any makeup since it is now all off! I think it is that our condo is sooo dry and DH can't sleep with the sound of the humidifier running...

My mom had started getting bloody noses a lot... and she went to the doctor, couldn't find anything wrong... they determined that it was the dry heat in the house and we added a humidifier to the heater in the basement and it stopped!
I'd go to the doctor anyway, just to make sure.

Is the air in your house really dry because of the heat? Maybe you need a humidifier to make the air a bit moist. Sometimes if the room air is too dry, it can dry up your nasal membranes and cause them to crack and bleed...

I was going to suggest a humidifier, but if that won't work try opening the window a crack. Or place a couple of glasses of water near yourthe windows or radiators in your house.

I agree to put a few glasses of water in the room and get some nasal spray to hydrate your nose. DH has this problem (actually, he had a severely deviated septum and other nasal problems and recently had surgery, but dry nose causing bloody nose is something he has experienced)

Beth, my brother had this problem and he also couldn't use a humidifier because of the noise (he's such a delicate desert flower! ) He did something similar to what Juliet suggested. He'd leave a pan of water on his radiator, and a few glasses of water around the room (on his dresser and nightstand etc). It worked pretty well.

I can't believe how delicate men are! Seriously, it's like ohh too much noise for my delicate eardrums...Meanwhile he wakes me up every hour eating spoonfuls of peanut butter! I'll try the glasses of water...Can't hurt!
