Honestly thats BEYOND BS!!! I would totally report them. I cant believe that they would let you go under these circumstances. Please FM me the company so I can be SURE that I will not give them ANY business.. MOFOS! They dont know how us 2013ers rally! Lets boycot them ladies!!

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that New York State has received $27,792,296 in federal Disaster National Emergency Grant (NEG) funds. The grant will be used to hire workers who lost their jobs as a direct result of Hurricane Sandy in Bronx, Kings, New York, Richmond, Queens, Nassau, Suffolk, Rockland and Westchester counties to help clean up impacted communities.

“This federal grant will provide funds to hire much-needed extra workers to help clean up and recover communities impacted by Hurricane Sandy and put unemployed New Yorkers back to work,” Governor Cuomo said. “I thank Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis for her quick response to deliver assistance to our state.”

To be eligible, workers must be unemployed as a result of Hurricane Sandy or unemployed and not receiving unemployment benefits or other types of income support.

Workers interested in this program should call 1-888-4-NYSDOL (1-888-469-7365). The New York State Department of Labor will work with local officials to recruit and hire workers.

Information will also be available at local Disaster Recovery Centers and One-Stop Career Centers. A list of One-Stop Career Centers can be found on the State Department of Labor’s website at http://www.labor.ny.gov/workforcenypartners/osview.asp.

Counties eligible for cleanup assistance under this grant are those covered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Disaster Declaration for Public Assistance. They include Bronx, Kings, New York, Richmond, Queens, Nassau, Suffolk, Rockland and Westchester counties.

Well Four just lost a buttload of business. Stupid s&?$heads. Won't be going there ever again, and I work right across the street from it and we usually have our work parties there. Not anymore.

They sound like A-holes for sure... ugh!
I mean I was at work half this week and my boss expected us to at least get in touch with him, but if there was a tree on my house I sure as hell wouldn't have gone in until that was straightened out!! I mean they have to be at least understanding about that kind of thing!!

Like the other girls said, take it one day at a time. That disaster relief job loss link they posted also provides assistance if you had to not go to work for any period of time and didn't get paid. Definitely look into that!

I agree with all the ladies, that is just beyond horrible!!! They don't know how to treat their employees & at the end, their business will crumble!!!
I would still report them to BBB just to see what you can get becuase it is unjust!

Take it one day at a time & don't give, things happen for a reason & what goes around, comes around! I really do believe that b/c I was once fired from a job for no reason by my manager & everyone (including the doctors in the practice) agreed with her but she had the control! A few months later, I heard she got fired herself! So ppl get what they deserve

You will find something 100% better! Stay strong & def apply for the work program posted here.

OMG, what a heartless thing to do. My job is not paying us at all for any of the days and if we do want to get paid we can only use our personal days and vacation, no sick at all. I just started at my new job and I have no time yet.

I am so sorry this happened to you, there is something better out there for you and it will be much better then what you had...everything happens for a reason.

It's just ridiculous bc they tried to spin it that it was my fault. I'm so over them. Beyond disgusting.
