I'm not sure of the etiquette of this & also how much???
I'd appreciate any help.

Yes, I believe it is common to tip the seamstress, but not mandatory. I love my seamstress and if she solves my bustle dilemma I will probably give her $100.

In the fitting rooms of my bridal salon there is a sign that reads 'tips for the seamstress are allowed and greatly appreciated'. So I am assuming that it is standard, but I really don't know for sure.

I don't think it's at all mandatory to tip the seamstress, and I think it's horrible that a salon has a sign making brides think they're 'supposed' to tip. I gave my seamstress a beautiful bo-k of flowers at my last fitting and she seemed genuinely pleased.
