I'm in love...
with this wedding invitation:
Of course the freakin' thing is over 8 bucks a piece!
Please tell me that's pricey and not the norm!?!What are your invites costing on the average? I just started to look around at them and don't have the faintest idea as what to expect cost wise.

Marcella, Where!?! Help a girl out!
I was searching through the website and those definitely made me go 'Wow!' I doubt it will have the same effect on Kevin...unless he sees the price.

Jenn, is it 8bucks for a whole set? Or per piece (invite, response card, reception card, envelope, etc. . )

Re: I'm in love...
I had been shopping around for prices and I'm gonna differ from the responses above and say that it is exactly the norm. At leats from what i found.I don't know if this helps but my vendor, Laura from LA Productions (a vendor on this site) can probably take the idea and custom make them for you. That is what she did for me. Call her and tell her what you want and she'll make a sample for you and bring it to your home. Good luck!!

Michele, you paid over $8 per invite? Did that include response & reception cards and all the other extras?

Re: I'm in love...
curly, I don't know why, but I didn't expect to pay $3000 for invites. I figured $1000 would be typical.I'll have to give LA Productions call! Thanks!

Re: I'm in love...
Oooh, Jenny by the time you buy $100 of them(or more if you need), plus the reception info and response card, etc. . . you will be well over the $1000 mark.Laura made me 100 custom made fancy invitations that I could not find anywhere else under $1500.
Envelopes, everything included along w/75 STD magnets for about $900.
Plus, mine had quite a few layers of expensive paper. I bet she could make you an invitation like your picture for alot less. You should call her.
Edited to say, she's listed under Wedding services, Invitations on this site.

Re: I'm in love...
lizabeth, I'm thinking about going back to our original idea which was to have my FH's art director create the invites for us!It really irks me to spend that kind of money on paper. Especially when I know most people (guests) could give a crap! But I guess presentation is everything.
Do you know what I did with the last wedding invitation I received!?! I used it as a straight edge for painting one of my rooms! The couple definitely got their money's worth out of that invite!

Re: I'm in love...
Oooh, an art director, oh yes, that should be very creative and nice.
I know, I never keep an invitation past the wedding, but they say it's your guests 1st real glance into your wedding, and it sets the stage.
Hmmm, I got so caught up I was so disappointed when I shopped around, until I found Laura.
Good Luck !!!!!

Re: I'm in love...
def do the art director thing.. you can't duplicate something that's personalized..I haven't even really begun to think about invites..I have plenty of time, but I tell you this, I will most def not be paying 1000 bucks!

Re: I'm in love...
Between the e-party coming up hmmm soon I hope, depends on my dad's health, and the wedding to follow around the corner, I find $1,000 too much to spend on one set of invites. For my e-party invites I am having my freelancer match the design of the frames I bought for the place cards. I will print those from here since I have access to the color printer. So I would totally recommend having a designer do something unique for you. And if they can run your invites on their printers, that could save you some mula too.For my invites I know exactly what I want. I will just have to print and collate myself. The paper is too expensive. But its what I want and I can't see myself spending so much on the printing when I can do it at work. At least its worth being here for a reason!
