I will be attempting to do a TON of DIY for this wedding since it is the only way I can afford all the details I want. And to make the most of my money and keep from going crazy I am in the process of making samples of each thing so I can gauge how much time/material I will need and then I can shop around for supplies to keep the cost for each project down. DIY Crazy I tell ya.
Well I've just completed My first Sample!!
Since our wedding is the 4th of July, and FH and I are trying to channel the whole family BBQ vibe I knew a Sparkler Send Off was a Must. Here is the sample:
And in case it doesn't work, since I can never seem to get the pics to post, I will add it to my pics...album 'DIY'
I will add pics of other samples as I crank them out...because I am just too damn giddy and excited not to share them!! Anyone else out there going DIY Crazy?

I have limits of what I can and can't do. But I spend some time on Pinterest and I get convinced I can make everything lol

That came out beautiful! I'm starting my DIY. I just bought 100 pairs of flip flops so I'm looking forward to making the basket, and I'm getting started on my table numbers. I'm trying to pace myself so I don't run out of things to do too early! :)

Thanks! lol I know it's so hard to pace when it's exciting...but I'm sure after a few hours of putting stuff together I will find it much less fun!
Good Luck on your projects and share pics!

Thanks! We asked before we booked to make sure, but I mean as long as you do it outdoors I don't see why it would be a problem at all.. I've even seen halls that allow sparklers for the B&G entrance inside! Doesn't hurt to shoot the Hall an email asking, it is a fun thing to add to a Summer/ July wedding and makes for great photos too!

Those are cute. I'm diying my invitations, table numbers, and brooch bouquet. I'm a big procrastinator so I already started all three projects. If I wait because I have plenty of time I'll be going crazy trying to finish them.

Thanks lol. I definitely will. I've already designed most of it. Just have to finish my response card and put one together.

Wow I love it. You just motivated me to start my projects. I have a lot of DIY projects as well. Invites, STDs, table #'s, programs, menus, place cards, my shoes, my viel, etc etc. The list is really long and kind of obnoxious. Apparently I think I'm Martha Stewert.

Haha me too! It's a sickness. I'm doing Place card holders, Invite embellishments, Calligraphy, Veil, Favors and Favor tags, Menus, Program Fans, the sparkler send off, 'mr and Mrs' plaque, flower girl basket, plus BM gifts lol
God now that I've listed it I feel a little nauseous lol. I better get crafting! Good thing I have a Cricut or I might go crazy lol.

Your send off looks great! I am at the opposite end of the DIY spectrum, but this is inspiring!

You did a really good job! I want to do a few DIY projects as well just don't know what yet. I made candy grams (pic in my albums) for my bridemaids to ask them to be in my wedding, but that's about it so far.

Re: I may be a little DIY crazy- Part 2
Ok so I'm on a roll! Next DIY project I tackled were the place card holders. I have the whole, American Country, Shabby Chic, BBQ vibe going on so I knew Clothes pins would be a perfect fit.
Here is how It came out, with a Pretend Place card that matches my invites.
Hard to tell the color, they are painted yellow with a Royal Blue Heart. So excited to get another project going!!
