Just went to the company cafeteria to get lunch and soo many people looked like they were dressed for a day at the beach or a night in the clubs. The hooches had on either short skirts that barely covered their @sses or low rider jeans that let it hang out so we can see their thongs. Not to mention the barely there tube tops and halters, yes ladies some of you DID require a bra.
So as not to be sexist let's pick on the guys capri pants and flip flops..oh my I must be in a time warp where busines casual meant something else..oh and what am I the old fart wearing a black and white wrap around skirt and a black top

Re: I must be getting old
My co-worker and I went to our cafeteria about an hour ago and were making fun of all the people who were more out of their clothes than in them. I'm definitely not old fashioned but I believe when you work for an investment bank (which I do) the attire should be professional. Sometimes I wish we would go back to professional attire and get rid of business casual entirely.

Some people dont here the BUSINESS in the BUSINESS CASUAL when they are told of the dress code!!!
When the tempeture heats up...ALL fashion sense is thrown out the window!!

You're not getting old, people just forget to look in the mirror in the morning. My assistant (who is older than me, so it has nothing to do with age) is wearing a backless short shirt and a mini-skirt today.

Michelle you do have freaks in your building! LOL I can sit at the cafeteria and people watch in your building all day... Its really funny and scary that people wear this stuff at work. What do they wear when they are hanging out! I just don't get it. You are in an office. Some things are just no-nos...

Re: I must be getting old
Speaking of man's fashion staments: there used to be a guy in my company who had a pair of beige/red/black plaid pants, with realy large pattern. He was about 5'4 so you can imagine the effect! actually, the first time I saw him he was wearing those pants.I wasn;t quite sure what to think!

Michelle my mom complains about the same thing to me at her job and she works for a law firm. She says they are the kind that let them take away casual dressing

Re: I must be getting old
you're not old - i am only 24 and like to think i am not old either - i think people just lost what it is to have a lot of professionalism at work - no matter how 'casual' is allowed!! we laugh at some of the people now....
