I must be mad....

I found myself looking at another RH last night, Went to the Roslyn Claremont Hotel to be exact, when I'm already booked with CLM.

I found myself wanting this new place more... but it was so out of price range.... $30 more /pp then what I'm paying at CLM.

The ballroom at the RCH is just killing me... so much bigger than the room at CLM and I thought much grander then their larger room too. The menu looked so good, the BM was much more personal & helpful that any other BM I had met with. I really thought the room was just beautiful.

Whats worse is I got 'that feeling' that this was it. Never felt that before. But we can't afford it.




I should probably start seeing a shrink. Must be something wrong in my head!

I love CLM dont get me wrong but then i've had issues with family members and friends so i was think about doing a destination wedding then i was thinking about montaulk ugh just dont look anymore bc you'll get confused.

But if you heart is set on this new place and you truly feel its the one. Then mayb look into it. Whats the cancellation policy with CLM? I dont even remember. Mayb you have do down size the amount of people you invite to have the place of your dreams

Well my problem is the minimum for the new RH is the same at CLM. Only it's going to cost me $30 more /pp which I cannot afford.

I swear I feel like this whole wedding thing is becoming ridiculous. I'm the kinda person who will call it all off if I'm not 100% satisfied with everything. Now I don't even know if I want CLM anymore.

Do you have any clue what theyre cancellation policy? bc i honestly dont know im curious.

if you dont feel 100% then change it bc this is YOUR DAY!!!!!

talk to the place you like and tell them you really want your wedding there and you already booked and you are willing to switch but you want them to come close to matching clm's price even show then your contract so they know your serious. With the economy the way it is now a lot of places are willing to drop the price to get the business

I agree that if you don't feel 100% about something then i woulud take a look into this new hall... you can maybe try to negotiate some money off.. this is your wedding day and you should be happy!!!

Also i think because CLM is in suffolk they have some sort of policy where they have to give you back your deposits so as long as its 6 months before.. i believe..

When I started looking I really wanted Flowerfields, the place is stunning and just all around gorgeous. But it was just not in the budget, no way no how. We tired negotiating six different times and nothing.

I am happy with my choice but sometimes I do think how I wanted the other place.

In the end, I could not afford it but I know my wedding will be just as beautiful.

So I would say, try to negotiate if you can. If not then stick with CLM, either way your wedding will be beautiful.

I dotn envy your situation. I understand how important it is to have that feeling. I paid $25 more pp for the place I loved...rather than going somewhere else that I liked. And the cheaper option was offering me everything under the sun. But I couldnt imagine planning for 2 years and not having the place of my dreams. But keep in mind...everyone thinks I am nuts. In the end, it's 5 hrs of your life, and if you like CLM enough...saving the money might be the best bet. : )

i wished i had some good advice, but seeing as i haven't even picked a place to get hitched yet i may not be in that position anyway.... but if you didn't throw THAT much money into the hall yet (ie: if its dispensable) then i'd say keep looking for the perfect place, maybe there is one better than clm but better price than roslyn

I know exactly how you feel! I didn't book a RH yet, but FH and I looked at the Swan Club, which is beautiful, I really like and gives us a lot for our $. Then last night we saw the Harbor club...gorgeous, and gave me that same feeling liek this is the one. But at $32 more pp. My FH is of course practical saying we can't afford that, and is it really worth a few thousand more?

We are still going to look at a few places, so I am hoping that we will find another place that gives me that feeling...at a lower price. Otherwise, I will be in the same position as you. Choosing that feeling over Affordability.

my only advice to you is to start visiting RH's again!! probably also like another lady mentioned going back to CLM will help you. but visit other halls try playing with the dates i think if you choose winter wedding the price will be way less! good luck

Sadly enought the lower price for RCH was for the cheapest month

But a winter wedding is not much of an option because of my grand parents. They are unable to travel during the colder months and if the weather isn't good they definately wont be able to be there.

I need them there :(

I'm sure I'll be happy with CLM if nothing else comes up. They are giving me A LOT for the price I am paying. In the end it's almost a $4,000 difference with the minimum of 100 for both places. CLM being the cheaper. $4,000 is too much more. We're already on a tight budget as it is.

I think if you are doubting CLM you need to look into other options...im not the type of person who is like OMG this is it....but I am sooo in love with my RH and I think that every bride should have that...dont want to look back and have ne regrets...plus when I was at CLM I didnt think the people there were personal and that was a big deal for me...I love my BM now and the rest of the staff is amazing to me and FH at my RH...so see if you can get that feeling any where else if this new place is too expensive. Also go back to RCH and play hard ball tell them you have money for a deposit with you but you NEED a better deal...my experience is if you have money in hand they are much more willing to work with you
