Sonicstef I think had posted - prob on the NWR boards, where it belongs :) - about needing to be put to sleep to have dental work done? does anyone recommend a dentist that will do this? I have been in pain for 3 weeks, they have tried FOUR times with like 10 novocaine shots each time, I am dyin ova hea.....help!

Do you know what is wrong?. I am ruit canal woman. I even had to do one when i was pregnent. It was horrable. They dont reeally put you to sleep anymore. What you need is really good drugs. Good luck.

thanks! I only need a cap replaced, but I have a 'hot tooth' or some such nonsense, the 'nerve' pain when they work on it is so bad I freak out. No amount of novocaine works (I couldn't even feel my freaking EAR - but the tooth was still exactly the same! I have actually been told I need to go to a dental anesthesiologist and be put to sleep, just trying to find a recommendation. Ugh!

You probably need an antibiotic, to clam the nerve down. I have a dentist but he is in VAlley Stream and has performed my many rooct canals. they should be able to clam the nerve down.

Where do you live? The dentist my whole family goes to see (and who I actually just went back to this past weekend b/c I needed some major work done and I don't trust anyone else!) is Kevin Henner in Deer Park, and he is wonderful. Not sure if he's taking on any new patients, but FM me if you want the phone #.

I go to Dr. Novick in Franklin Sqaure on Dogwood ave right before the old keyfood shopping center...
i am not sure if he puts people to sleep, actually i dont know what he does for novicane.. i NEVER get novicane.,..( i dont like the needle, rather endure the pain

LOL thanks lisa!! it actually comes from when i was little too, my dad is a FANATIC about drugs and the harm they do to you, so he used to say, TOUGH it out!!! LOL.. and i did, and you know what, its VERY painful while hes working on me, but then as soon as hes done the pressure is off and i only feel better and better as time passes rather than when the novicane wears off to feel horrible...
