Ladies, as u may have guessed my father is a little above and beyond when it comes to this wedding (eg. centerpieces, lighting which ill describe what we are having later, etc.......) so he wrote up a potential menu for FH and i yesterday. Being as though it is our catering facility, the menu will basically be whatever we want (yes i know i am very lucky)
so heres the difficult thing: Ill explain all the food in detail once we have decided def! at the moment we are having 16 passed hors doeurves, 9 crazy stations, then in the ballroom :a pasta course, then a duet course, then a trio dinner plate for everyone instead of options, then .........now heres the thing: dad says i need to have a little dessert, but one that is elegant and different that is never really seen, before everyone goes outside to an over the top afterhours with a vianeese (or however u spell it)
yes its a lot- but what do i do for a dessert?! Some people say do a tipsy trifle, or a Sugar spun basket with white chocolate mousse and blueberries and strawberries since its fourth of july.......i said maybe a prsonal baked alaska or a crepe or something-----i want something diff though that NO ONE has seen at a wedding! What have you seen at a restaurant or something that u can recommend for me?!
PLEASE HELP LADIES! im stuck!
TIA

Re: I NEED A DESSERT!!!!!!!!
ooh I can def get on this but do you have any flavors that you like..
one of the things i saw at a rest was miniature homemade donuts with a trio of fancy dipping sauces. .chocolate, raspberry puree, and a zambagilone or something like that. . it seems 'child-like' but people LOVED it
I LOVE making lavendar creme brulee. . just a hint of a different taste and it's so good. .
okay actually running off to yoga but am happy to post more later. .give me direction and I'll oblige !

this sounds like it is going to be an amazing wedding...i think any of the deserts you described would be out of this world and a complete surprise to everyone.

Re: I NEED A DESSERT!!!!!!!!
U can have an icecream station complete with choice of toppings- sprinkles, chocolate chips, gummy bears, nuts/fruits, for a summer wedding. Def a fav for adults and children. Since you're already doing a dessert station, that's the only I could think of that's a bit different.

Re: I NEED A DESSERT!!!!!!!!
I LOVE me some Bananas Foster, so I would love seeing that as an option if I was a guest at a wedding. Fried, caramelized bananas with ice cream too, similar. I'm just bananas for bananas haha.

prob donuts too close to beignets. .. lavendar is really not that hard. you actually just put it in the water bath and it flavors it. . but you can do all sorts of flavors. . white chocolate is delicious too!
molten chocolate cakes are great too. . with the liquid centers. .
I also love fresh fruit sorbets served in the fruit. .like in the orange, coconut shell, lemon etc. . takes a simple food but looks really different in presentation and would be light enough folks would enjoy the VH
I once made mini icecream cakes. . cut in shapes but it was a super PITA but totally cute and different but it was for 10 people not 100 so don't know how that would transfer..

Re: I NEED A DESSERT!!!!!!!!
I had somewhat of the same menu only i decided to have 7 different entree options which included surf & turf. My extra dessert before the other desserts was a Waffle Zabaglione which was amazing! And something most people never see. HTH!
Edited to describe dessert : Belgium Waffle topped with a Zabaglione creme, freshberries, confectionary sugar & rasberry coulis. YUMMY
