Re: I need a good and simple recipe!
I make this all the time, it's great
Easier Chicken Marsala
Ingredients: 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 tablespoon butter 1/2 cup Marsala wine 1 beef bullon cube
Directions: -In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, garlic salt, pepper, and oregano. Dredge chicken in the mixture to lightly coat.
-Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the chicken in the skillet for 2 minutes, or until lightly browned on one side. Turn chicken over, and add mushrooms. Cook about 2 minutes, until other side of chicken is lightly browned. Stir mushrooms so that they cook evenly.
-Pour marsala wine over the chicken and add beef bullon cube. Cover skillet and reduce heat to low; simmer for 10 minutes, or until chicken is no longer pink and juices run clear

Re: I need a good and simple recipe!
this recipe is actually called.. 'engagement chicken' .. the story if anyone has heard it goes that any lady who makes it will be proposed to.. now i personally think its a load of horse crap cause i made this before i saw that..and i never got proposed to until 3 weeks ago..lmaoo... but it's super simple and very good!
get a small roasting chicken ( 3-5plbs will usually do.. depends on what u want)..
coat the chicken in lemon juice... then rub sea or kosher salt all over the chicken on both sides. Then take 2 lemons, poke holes in the lemons and stuff them in the chicken. Cook the chick for the first 45 minutes or so ..breast down.. then flip it over and cook until it's done (this varies by the size of the chicken of course)
it comes out looking golden brown.. like you spent hours on it.. it has just enough flavor and FH will think it's like a gourmet recipe.
As a side dish.. i usually slice up some potatoes.. throw them in a baking pan ( like 9X9 or something) ... add tons of melted butter (healthy..i know..lmao).. then add breadcrumbs..french fried onions, and lots of various cheese.. ( i like to use mozzarella and cheddar) top with some more bread crumbs and bake til golden. It's a nice simple..scalloped or au gratin recipe ( i don't know which one cause i don't follow the cook book i just throw stuff in..lmao)
