I need a Home for a 10 yr old BOXER?

A home for my moms BOXER....someone was suppose to come look at him today and never came. I cant find a number for Boxer Rescue on Long Island. Any one have a number or intersted.
His name is Blue hes about 10 we have all his papers. He loves going for walks and going in the car.. Is trained to go out side. And loves bacon strips..LOL...hell be ur best friend. Need to find him a home by tommorrow. Fm for details.

omg...i would love to take him, my fh and i have one already and he wants anohter, but we both decided that its a hectic time right now....i knwo lots of ppl that love boxers (amazing doogs) so i will be on the lookout!

whatever happens-- please don't just take him to the pound!!

please, please, please try the rescue organizations and at the very least-- keep him a little longer until you find something.

DEF not taking him to the pound i thank all the girls that let me know about the rescue teams which are no kill. I could never leave him thinking they would put him down.

I really want a second dog but my fiance is not keen on the idea. Our dog and cat right now don't get along so it is hectic. I wish I could take him , I love boxers.

Boxer Rescue will take care of him. I filled out an application a while ago for a dog (without my fiance knowing) There is a huge waiting list for boxers so as long as he is a good dog, he will find a home.

Also - I used to volunteer at the Smithtown Animal Shelter. They usually contact the rescue groups anyway. So - he would most likely go there anyway unless someone adopted him before they had a chance to contact boxer rescue.

Contrary to what people believe, if the dog is not agggressive, they normally sit in the shelters for months and months until someone adopts them. Most shelters won't put down a non-agressive dog, unless they are really overcrowded. You would have to ask the shelter what their terms are.

Do you know how he is with cats? I have 2 cats right now, but DH really really wants a dog.
My SIL has 2 boxers and we love them - they're the sweetest things!

If he's good with kitties, I can call DH at work and talk to him....
