I need a little help...
I know this has been posted a thousand times, and I just did a search on past posts and I posted on the newlywed site, but my wedding is this Friday and I would love some input on tips! What is everyone doing? Please share who you are tipping and how much.
Thank you and continued success to all...

This is such a coincidence...today i was making out tip envelopes and i got as far as the limo drivers and flower delivery. Do you tip photographers? DJ's? How much? The only thing i truly know about is the maitre d because my hall told me exactly how much. Advice for me too please! :)

Re: I need a little help...
Tips are very personal so you should use your own judgement and budget to determine them. You do not need to tip the owners of the businesses. So if your hairdresser owns the salon a tip is not required, but I am sure they will not say No either.
Here are the people who you should tip:
-Photographers and assistants
I am tipping each photographer about $200, there are no assistants but $50-$75 is fair.
-Videographers and assistant
I have an owner, but I would tip the same as a photographer
-Flower delivery
Depending on how many flowers and set-ups. I will probably tip $75
-Alter boys, if any
We do not have them but I would give them each $10 or so.
-Maitre'D and event coordinator
You are 'supposed' to tip $3-$5 per person. This should all depend on the level of service that you get and how things are handled the day of your affair.
-Limo drivers
The tip is included in the fee but we will have a $20 for each driver if they do a great job and go above and beyond expectations
-Band/DJ
I have a band and am paying over $4K so I have no idea if I can really afford a big tip. But I will probably give them $150-$200, if I can afford it.
I know people who give the band a lot more than that though.
-Hair and Makeup
Depends on your relationship with them and if you are going to the salon or they are coming to you. 20% is a good tip, or a bit more if they are coming to you.
Also remember the wait staff, valet, or bar staff. You might want to tip them but you don't have too.
And the maid for your hotel room the night of the wedding.
Tips really add up quick too. I would put each tip in an envelope before the wedding. That day will be too complicated to deal with.
