I need a seamstress!

I need a seamstress!

Long story but I'll keep it short. I bought my dress in PA by my FSIL's house. I love the dress and it was a great price. Well, at the final fitting it was a mess - they did a horrible job. We left and my mom has since spoke to the owner several times and they are 'working' on it. I am now taking off Thursday to go down there and see if its done - if not I'm taking it and I will have to get it fixed up here. (Originally my FMIL was going to bring it up with her the day of the RD). I don't have a good seamstress on LI - any suggestions?? My wedding is in 10 days!!!

Septemberbride03,

From a fellow 9/20/03 bride. Try Effe at the Bridal Suite of Huntington -- she worked on the alterations on my wedding dress(I did not buy my dress there but she did a great job).

I did have some issues w/ the shop but all the alterations for my dress and the bridemaid dresses are fine.

I'm using Karin Yngvesdotter as my seamstress www.yngvesdotter.com . (My dress needs to be altered from an 8 to a 2 - eek!) I chose her due to all of her great reviews on these boards. She is in Queens and is very nice to work with!

Where are you looking. Try Ingrid - Not sure of her phone number but she is very good. Her shop is located on 25A in Setauket (corner of 25A and Bennett Road.)

If you want FM me where you live, I have a friend who knows an excellent seamstress, and we have one at my job who is really good and in the business. If I know where you are, I can find out who would be close to you.
