I NEED AN ANSWER PLEASE

I just got engaged last month...WE are getting married Vday of 09... I was told that we shouldnt have a e-party cause its too close... what do you guys think?

I agree with the poster above, if you do it soon then you should be ok. I did not have an e-party b/c by the time we booked the hall it was about a year away from the date, and I personally felt (along with FH) that having an e-party would have been a little much for our families and friends (especially since a month before that we all attended 3 other weddings) and also would have been a financial burden on us as well. We used that money towards things for the wedding.

But its a personal choice

i mean no disrespect to any of you girls who have done this b/c you've all helped in the beginning stages of my wedding planning enormously....but.....

several of my friends did the e-party, shower, bachelorette, & wedding all in 1 year and it really annoyed me. Its a lot of money to shell out in such a short time....but that JMO....in my family we dont do e-parties, as word spreads through the family people just send some small gifts to congratulate

again everyone has their own situations, some families its a big thing to do, its JMO

I just didint want eveyone to be annoyed by the wedding before it even happened...PLus my fh grandma is not doing well... I dont want to be rude

i personally think that you shouldnt have an eparty within a year if the wedding. I think I saw somewhere that they said the same thing. You might want to plan a small BBQ/party just to celebrate something very casual and tell people your presence at the party will be our gift type of thing. but to ask family and friends to spend all this money so close together can be tough for them. Also thinking about planing an eparty while planning the wedding is just goign to be super stressful for you! Just my opinion though, i know girls have done it....

i don't think you should have one. your wedding is in less than a year! plus your bridal shower will probably be in december of this year, and that's just too much too soon.
