I need both the GOOD and BAD about these:

My top 10 choices for my wedding:

It will be for both my ceremony and the reception. I care about food, decorations and service. I will probably have a guest list of 50-75 people. Price is also critical, if you know any price quotes for these places, please let me know what you've heard per person and if they charge for extras (chairs or chair covers, etc.)

If you have any negative or positive comments about these places please let me know!

-The Royalton
-The Metropolitan
-Elegant Affairs Caterers
-Bridgeview Yacht Club
-Irish Coffee Pub
-The Woodlands
-Jericho Terrace
-Westbury Manor
-Riviera Caterers
-Meadow Club

Thanks in advance!

The only one out of these I saw was the Woodlands. I was quoted $160pp for a Saturday night in June with a 200 person guarantee. It was beautiful, but we felt that the room for the CH might have been too small for our size wedding.

the only one of these that i know about is jericho terrace--which im partial to because that's where im getting married

for a sat afternoon in july i was quoted 75 with a 125 minimum, but there is a smaller room that i could have used..

good luck!!

Only place I've been to on this list was The Meadow Club. We were quoted $65 and $75 for a Sat night in November 2009, based on the two menu levels. If low bid is a big deal for you, I would consider it. It's a very pretty place in that old Victorian charm kind of way...it just wasn't our taste. If we had a smaller budget and absolutely needed to stay at that price per head, we would have considered it more.

I can only comment about the Irish Coffee Pub, which was our very close 2nd choice for our wedding, and where I had my bridal shower.

Things to keep in mind:

You have the entire upstairs to yourselves, it is a gorgeous space with plenty of room and a big dancefloor, etc., however the restaurant does remain open and bathrooms are downstairs.

There is not much outdoor ambience for pictures, etc. if you are having a summer wedding.

What we loved about it:

They only required a 75 person minimum, and at $95/pp their package included a lot that many other places considered 'upgrades'. The catering managers were so incredibly nice to deal with. It has a wonderful reputation for outstanding service and food, which was proven at my shower, and the Waterford Room is really classicly elegant without being overdone, just pretty.

Overall, I think it'd be a great choice.

My sister got married at the Meadow Club and had about the same amount of people. Its really nice there. If you're having the ceremony outside, it's really pretty. Only negative thing is that its near a busy road and people kept driving by and honking during the ceremony.

WM is awesome - the food is out of this world and the gardens are gorgeous. You get so much for your money. that is why I am getting married there

I booked with Bridgeview so if you have any questions FM me. I think the minium for the ballroom is 150 though. They have a smaller room, which is the room I'm using for CH.

the riviera is probably too big. I was looking at it for a Sat night beginning of May and with tax and grat. it was well over 100pp and the min was i think around 140. I also thought it was a bit dark but has an amazing area outside for cocktail and great views.

-The Metropolitan-Had a wonderful time at a wedding here..just saw your wedding was 50-75...really great size place for that amount of people...my friend had 100 people and it was so awesome! Food was delicious, also I remeber the cake was gorgeous

-Bridgeview Yacht Club- never went to a wedding but it is beautiful I have been to the club

-Westbury Manor-beautiful gardens, my friend had an outside cocktail hour which was gorgeous. My food was great

Re: I need both the GOOD and BAD about these:

ive been to 2 weddings a jericho terrace and they were both amazing

westbury manor we looked at and loved and would have possibly booked but we had to guarentee too many people so we had to eliminate it

bridegeview was beautiful!!!!! my only issue was the room was too big..im only having maybe 130 -150 people and thought we might look to small in there but it was gorgeous..esp the ch area

i think u should def check out all 3 def worth a look

i used to work at the irish coffee pub.......the food is great but i am not a fan of the set up in the ball room. the tables are oval and i dont like those. but thats JMO.....also downstairs is a restaurant so the bathrooms are downstairs and guests would be going down to the dining area to use the restrooms.

i think you need to find out all the minimums first. especially if you are planning a june 1st wedding. although isn't that a tuesday in 2010?
if so, then you'll be fine but I got married on 5/31 at the Riviera and the minimum for a day wedding was 110; 150 for the nighttime.

The Royalton I had to guarantee 200 for $150 on a sunday

The metropolitan woudl probably be very nice for that amount of people, not sure of the price though.
