I need both the GOOD and BAD about these:

Original post by summerbride20

My top 10 choices for my wedding:

It will be for both my ceremony and the reception. I care about food, decorations and service. I will probably have a guest list of 50-75 people. Price is also critical, if you know any price quotes for these places, please let me know what you've heard per person and if they charge for extras (chairs or chair covers, etc.)

If you have any negative or positive comments about these places please let me know!

-The Royalton
-The Metropolitan
-Elegant Affairs Caterers
-Bridgeview Yacht Club
-Irish Coffee Pub
-The Woodlands
-Jericho Terrace
-Westbury Manor
-Riviera Caterers
-Meadow Club

Thanks in advance!

Well well well.. I booked the Royalton! So my first pic is that! For a Friday night in November (beginning) it's $130pp. November is not the inexpensive month it once was (I learned this from RH shopping). It's sooo nice and private... you are the ONLY wedding taking place. There are 4 bridal suites for you (the parents, the girls, the guys and a combo one). The place is really beautiful and one of a kind.

I went to a wedding at Jericho Terrace... don't remember much. It was a day wedding... and there was no alcohol. Sorry... that doesn't help you much.

This past Friday I went to a wedding at the Westbury Manor. Their prices were less than the Royalton. Food was GREAT (except the salad)... and the place was beautiful. Don't know if you care about these details but there can be more than one wedding going on at a time and there's also a restaurant there... all of which share one bathroom. It is a very very nice bathroom... each stall has it's own sink in it. The ceilings were very nice but seemed a bit low. Overall... I really enjoyed that place!

Ever since I booked Jericho Terrace, the staff has been nothing but amazing. The food is delicious. I've had such a great experience so far. I've heard NOTHING but great things about JT.

girls have said WM is nice -- lovely gardens.

but if you have a small wedding and use the upstairs rooms, the gardens will not necessarily be available to you. I was told the wedding downstairs has use of the gardesn. so if you check there, ask about the gardens if you really want pics there. if the ceremony is there too, maybe that overrides where the reception is held.

I've only been to WM on your list...but 3 times. All of them were great weddings, couldn't even come up with a complaint!

I was quoted $75pp for a Sunday afternoon in November at the Metropolitan. The banquet manager said they are redoing the entire place this year and after that the price pp will be doubled. However you can lock in the current rate even if you wedding will be after the redo.
However, the banquet manager I met with insulted 2 other halls I was interested in. That is a HUGE no-no for me.

Westbury Manor had my favorite room of all the halls I visited. However on the day I went to look at it, there were 2 luncheons going on and it was CHAOS. It is a very charming place though.
