So I've been back and forth to the dentist for about 3 weeks, and had my last two wisdom teeth removed...now my dentist is suggesting BRACES because my teeth are spacing out and my bite is crooked!!!! I automatically thought about Invisalign, but they are EXPENSIVE!!!! I dont want to get married with a mouth full of metal (clear or othewise) Anyone else dealing with braces?

i'm not dealing with them now, but they really arent that bad. i have a friend who has braces BEHIND her teeth. i'm not sure how that works... but you cant see them. i'm sure it has to hurt her tongue though.

well if it makes u feel any better i just got braces put on. i had a great deal of problems w/my jaw (pain, discomfort...etc) so the only way to fix it was to surgically expand my pallat. so after having my upper jaw broken and expanded, braces is the last step of the process to line everything up. braces are cheeper than invisalign and work faster too. maybe u can alk to ur dentist about a payment plan.

I had braces a few years ago, I probably will need them again cause my dr was sucky. plus I didn't wear my retainer! anyway braces can work really fast I only had them on like 14 months. they're not that bad. I miss my braces only because I lost so much weight!

Is it possible to wait until after the wedding? I had braces in 7th grade, and my teeth have since separated a little bit.
Does insurance cover invisalign? I'd have to assume not.

So sorry to hear : ( As a person who has never had braces nor needs them, I can feel your pain of not wanting to get them! If I were in your situation and needed them, but they'd be on for my wedding, I'd pay the extra money for Invisalign. I wouldn't want braces on my teeth for our wedding photos. JMO

My teeth arent crooked, they've just spaced out because of the missing wisdom teeth, providing room for the rest of my teeth to shift...also my front teeth dont close together... Im having a consultation soon with the orthodontist, so we'll see what he says.

Hiya.
My spaces are crazy also. It's been like that for a while and didnt bother me but now I'm taking pics, it irks me.
I didnt want braces because of the pain so I am starting my first pair of invisilign on June 28th. The treatment will take 11 months to complete.
I have to agree though, it cost me an arm and a leg and my insurance company only covered less than 10%.
I dont regret doing it though because I want my teeth to be fixed.

Try Invisiline, they are the clear ones, I thought I needed them but my dentist said I didnt, bec you know me with the gap inbetween my teeth, hahahahah. I am sure you will still have your beautiful smile

I had braces in high school for about a year and a half and instead of those removeable retainers, i have the retainer behind my front 6 teeth, top and bottom. Like this, it ensures that my teeth won't go back. I still have the retainer in, i think i can have it until i'm 30. No one sees it and its not uncomfortable at all.
Also, when my aunt got married, her maid of honor had braces. She actually worked out a deal with the orthodontist where he took off her braces for the wedding, then put them back on after.
