Ok here is the situation, I am currently a full-time student at night and work full-time in baking during the day...in order for me to graduate when I want I would have to get another job that can accomadate a day-time school schedule. (the classes i need to finish arent offered at night) I am now looking for a jobin the area of HR since that is what I am in school for...i have been having a very tough time and time is running short. My brother has got me two job offers...one of which is very HR related and the hours would be 7-3 (MY DREAM HRS) but it would take me longer to graduate school...but i would be getting the HR experience. The other job is sort of HR related but the hours are flexible to whatever i need to do in order to get my classes... What do i do? I would be making 11,000 more then I am with either one i pick. I dunno if i take the dream job and prolong schoool a little longer or take the not so dream job and finish up school. What would you guys do??? Help me!!!!!!!!

ok, this is just my opinion, but I am in a very similar situation.
You want the end result of your education to be a dream job in HR, right?
Soooo - you're being offered that dream job RIGHT NOW- pre-graduation, right?
I would JUMP on that job. For all you know, in a year, they may tell you that there would be room for advancement if you have your degree, and they'll offer tuition reimbursement, right?

I was in a similar situation. I decided to prolong school to take a job I knew would be better fro my sanity. The dream job sound great and you can't beat the hours.

The hours are what is driving me to want it, and i would only have to prolong school one extra semester..I hate school but it shouldnt be that bad...and there is a lot of room for advancement and tution reimbursement

I secind what Nicole said!! I say go for the dream job! You never know.. you may love it there and get even more money from them when you graduate and then you'll already be set up with a job! Go for it!

Take the dream job - one extra semester is just 3 mths.
Look at it like this - if you take the other job, and graduate on time - you will STILL be looking for that dream job, and then you will hate yourself for passing it up

I was in the same boat, I prologned my education for the job I was going to school for. Your hours are less than mine, I work to 5 and a lot of overtime. It has been tough with the planning. I think you should take the job, but it mignt not be so easy with your new job and the planning of your wedding. My job is probably more demanding than the one you are gooing to take. I think you should take it, but if you have to push it back 2 semesters, its okay also. Thats what has happened to me. Take it and Congrats.

Pro-long school......My total opinion.... jobs aren't always going to be knocking on your door.....Get the experience that is very important,,,almost more so than school...(I hate to say that but it is true) Check with your 'new' job see if they pay for schooling usually after 90 days they will pay a percentage of it!!!!!!!!!

I agree with shorty.. I would take the HR job, get the experience even though it will take you longer to graduate.

dream job! i didn't really read what everyone wrote (sorry) but my opinion, take the job that you know you want more. cuz it seems like you know what you want!
