i dont think the last post made it on here iam still new at this. i wanted to know if anyone can give me ideas on different catering halls that are nice that would help me out. see heres the problem i use to live in ny and i moved to florida a year ago. i want to have my wedding in ny because thats where all my family and friends are but not only am i clueless on how to plan a wedding but i am a million miles away from where its being held, so any info you can give me would be great. thanks!!

Ohhh, there are sooo many nice places. First thing I'd say would be to decide what you would really like - an outside ceremony, a garden, waterfront, beachfront, vineyard - I'd say check out a bunch of websites and call some places. Narrow down your search and then maybe you could make a list of some you want to check out and come up for a weekend. Do you trust any family members to take a look at some places for you, to help you narrow down the search? When you do have a list of places, do a search on LIW and put up another thread w/ the list of places for comments on. Good luck!!

Also what is your style... while Jericho Terrace works for some, Westbury Manor works for others, and Chateau La Mer works for yet others.
Do you like a Mediterranean feel? Or an english manor, or on the beach or at a country club.....

ok... first off i dunno where to have it. if i should have it in a catering hall or what not... like i said iam clueless.. i know i def dont want anything on the beach because i wouldve just stayed in florida to have it i mean after all thats what there known for!! i just want something thats beautiful and not to expensive... my mother in law ( who will be paying) told me that i have a budget to start out and see what i can do with 20,000 now i have no idea if thats alot or a lil for a wedding of about 150 people. iam not sure if i want it in Suffolk or Nassau but i just need to make sure that there is a hotel CLOSE by to put all my guest. i also need a place that we can married at. i cant get married in a church because my soon to be husband is half jewsh and half catholic and i dont want to included any religion in the ceremony... so i need a place u can get married inside or outside in case of bad weather. thanks for all your replies ... like i said b4 .... anything u can say will help me out!!

oh one more thing ... do u think that it would be rude for me not to invite any kids but my siblings? iam afraid people will get mad and not go but the truth of the matter is i want everyone to have a good time and just relax including us... thats y i want to pay to put everyone in a hotel so nobody will have to drive....

you can try the crest hollow country club. Their price's per person are pretty reasonable and it's a beautiful place. They have an indoor ceremony room and an outdoor area around the gardens that you can get married at as well.
