I need help coming up with theme ideas for my wedding please help

I am getting married in Jan of 2009 at Giorgio's my FH and I are trying to come up with theme ideas to use for our wedding. I know it is early but we like to have everything planned out and set so we have an easier time with this and enjoy it more then stressing out and rushing to get things done. We really haven't come up with anything besides a winter wedding theme. Can anyone help us with some ideas please??? Thank you for your help and ideas.

Winter wedding theme is a great idea, but you can also use colors as a theme. We are doing a blue theme, which the flowers, invites, dresses... all have blue incorporated into them. There are many different threads based on colors here ex. purple ideas, blue ideas, whatever... good luck

I see you two are wearing Islanders jerseys- how about you incorporate some cool Islanders/hockey things? Being that hockey is kind of a wintry sport (because of the skating)...that could tie into the winter theme!

I wanted Romantic. My girls had black dresses with all bright red roses. The grooms had black tuxes with black vests the ties where black and red. I filled my room with red roses, red rose petals and candles everywhere. This was all done very reasonably. Candles where cheap and got a really good deal on the flowers. Everyone commented on how romantic the room felt.

lots of candles on the table ...i would do a deep color like navy blue osr purple ...maybe snowflakes

sitck to what you and your fh love - don't pry your brain trying to come up with something 'just because' talk about it with him - Im sure you'll both think of something wonderful & remember thems do not have to be 'all out' - sometimes little hints of something is better - I was alway taught less is more - I dont know if you agree - but it's just a thought, whatever you pick im sure it will be GREAT!

My fiance doesn't want purple to be honest neither do I. Purple is not one of my favorite colors. I am going for the classy elegant look. Any ideas?

Calla lillies are VERY elegant flowers so you could do a calla lilly theme...plus they come in just about any color to match whichever BM dresses you pick

My theme is fairy tale romance. It will be all about light colors, candlelight, and romance. I'm gonna have alot of love poems and hearts.

Forgive me if you don't celebrate Christmas - most of my ideas are Christmas related but:

are you thinking winter/Christmas or winter/new years?

I would maybe think a deep red or burgundy for a color scheme

- you can have your guests at the ceremony use jingle bells (or regular bells) instead of rice or whatever to throw and also during the ceremony, instead of clinking glasses for you to kiss you can put little bells on the table for them to ring you can also somehow incorporate mistletoe someplace
do the same thing except with new years noise makers & confetti.

-have some Christmas music playing during the cocktail hour

-give ornaments for favors wrapped in a pretty box with holly as the tag

- winter themed centerpieces (branches (no idea what kind they use for this but I am looking into it too! with candles hanging off them) lots of candelight everywhere

-make a signature drink like a white Russian or a peppermint martini with a candy cane in it or something

Does your reception hall have fireplaces in it? Have a roaring fire going and have the mantel decorated.

I think winter is a great theme to go with even new years, make it sort of a gold and black theme like a very classy/elegant new years eve party with half bottles of champagne and chocolates as your favors or something.
