I need help from someone who is a nurse/doctor/anyone who knows anything about anatomy and injuries ASAP

Ok so for my third job I am a soccer traininer for North Babylon soccer league and tonight one of the kids decided to kick me FULL force on the outside part of my lower shin...When he kicked me i instantly lost feeling in my foot (this was at 530 tonight) and am just starting to regain sensation in it now (830pm, just slight tingling) I am unable to bear too much weight on it and i have limited range of motion (I can move it up and down a teeny tiny bit, the inside is at about 50% and to move my foot to the outside of my body I cant do without seeing stars) The pain is traveling up my nerve along the outside of my leg into my knee and circling back down again. Lets just say my ride home from the fields was interesting...

Now I know my anatomy and sports injuries from anatomy in college, but i work in a lab now (on my feet ALL day [expect when i go onto LIW of course]), i dont see this stuff everyday anymore...You dont think it could be a Pott's Fracture or a chip do you? Think I should go to the orthopedist or wait a few days and see if the pain goes away?
What do you think?

i'm not in any of those fields, but i say if your in pain and its going through your nerves, you should go to the Emergency Room right away and have it checked out

I agree with Teri. Any loss of feeling and radiating pain is something you need to have checked out to make sure everything is ok. You don't wanna mess around with clots etc. Not to freak you out or anything. But get it checked out.

but if youre in that much pain.. go to the ER.. i wouldnt wait around if its something that ur relalyy ocncerned about.

I have no idea, but here's another vote for GO to the ER. You don't wanna mess around, especially if you can't bear weight on it. I know from not being able to walk, it *****

i say the ortho or a neurologist. they're the ones who work directly with the nerves and such. i wonder if the shin is a sensitive spot such as the funny bone?

The nurse says... Go to the ER tonight. If your seeing stars and having that much pain you should have an xray. In the meantime, advil, elevation and ice!

Deffinitely go to the er. My bet is that your sciatic nerve is pinched. That would shoot pain and numbness up your leg.

if ur in that much pain and its shooting up ur nerve u should be in the ER u need an x-ray maybe u did get a fracture or something

I am alive and gimpy...lol.
I didnt go to the ER last night, I ended up taking some pain killers and going to sleep, I was hoping it would all go away by the time i woke up in the morning and it was just a 'trauma' sort of thing...and well yea, its not...
So now my calf is burning, the pain is still traveling, feels like it weighs 20 pounds, and is half numb. My calf and ankle are a bit swollen, but it feels ROCK hard (not the squishy swollen feeling). I can walk but its hard (i am trying to make it look like i am not hurt so no one at work says anything...they dont like that i work other jobs so you could imagine what they would say if i got hurt at another one and it impacted my work here...)I made an appointment with my Orthopedic surgeon for early tomorrow morning, only reason bc my insurance is funny with ER visits (I had to fight for them to pay my bill from this past winter when i went to the hospital...)
Hopefully the appointment goes well and its just a severe sprain and not a break. Stinks bc no one can drive me to the appointment so I have to take myself, and if its broken and i need it casted i wont be able to drive home bc its my right leg!!
keep your fingers crossed for me that its not broken!!!!

I hope you feel better.

I'm not a dr, but I know from past experiences that usually if it's broken, you can't walk on it. So hopefully it's just a bad sprain. I'm a major klutz and have had my share of injuries over the years....you name it, i broke it. FH says he will wrap me in bubble wrap before the wedding so i dont' get hurt.
