FH and I would like to make a donation to the American Cancer Society instead of our wedding favors. Can anyone send me information on how we can do this? I've seen it at a wedding we went to where there was some sort of paper at each table that told the guests that instead of buying favors, the bride and groom donated to a specific charity. TIA!!!

I used to work at another Cancer organization and when people called to make donations as favors for their wedding they would give us the information and we would print out cards for the tables that talked about the donation or we would send the cards to the people to print themselves. Some organizations might have a minimum contribution level for doing this, but I doubt ACS will. I would recommend you call the ACS - 1-800-ACS-2345.
we are doing a donation to cancer, but to livestrong, and we are giving out the yellow bracelets with a card attacted to it explaining our donation and a little bit about what livestrong is...

just be carefull about giving your info. I donated to them and the next thing you know every nonprofit charity started mailing, calling and knocking at my door for money. So, instead of them mailing you info. You may want to pick it up. I don't want to discourage you to donate b/c it is wonderful thing but, I would be carefull.

Companies sell their lists...so once you're on one - a whole lot more seem to find you!

That's what we did. We bought cards from AC Moore and used our computer to print 'In lieu of wedding favors a donation has been made to the American Cancer society in loving memory of xxx xxx'
Then we went to their website and mae a donation online.
