I need HELP regarding Confetti (Italian Tradition)

Original post by Tivogliobene

Help quick!

I know I have seen '3' candies in favors and also '5' but is there any correct way to this?

The little box I want to put the confetti in are 2x2x2 so obviously '5' would look a little nicer and fuller...

My worst fear is my FMIL saying 'why the heck are there '5' and not '3?!?!'

Also, does anyone have the little sayings for 3 and 5???

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!

AS LONG AS YOU HAVE AN ODD NUMBER 3, 5 OR 7...YOU ARE FINE!
BLUDE AND PINK ARE RESERVED FOR BABIES ...YOU CAN USE WHITE AND ANY OTHER COLOR OTHER THAN BLUE AND PINK

I am actually making these right now and I am doing five almonds in a almond flower.

I am going to put these at the place settings.

I also have them on top of the favor box but they are being made by the lady that is doing my favors, Via Veneto in Franklin Square on Franklin Avenue.

We did 5. Where we are from in Northern Italy I am certain that 5 is the correct number of confetti. But I believe as long as the amount can not be divided you are okay. I attached the poem posted above about the 5 almonds to the bomboniere so all my guests would know the meaning. Every culture has a different number. But we were are from it is always 5 - health, wealth, happiness, children and long life!!

Noo, sorry...

I know what confetti are, but never heard or payed attention to the number of confetti in a pouch or box......

I can't imagine anyone saying why are there 5 when there are suppose to be 3! Just take it! lol

I never eat those things anyway....except if there are the chocolate ones...i love those

Ok, here's my info. The actual ITALIAN jordan almonds are MUCH thinner than American jordan almonds. So, in Italy, you will see 5 used on wedding favors. In the US, you will see 3 used because they're much plumper...

Yup! They are much wider and flatter. I know all about my almonds now thanks to nonna! And God forbid you called them 'jordan' almonds! All hell breaks loose!
