I need ideas...

as to how to ask my friends to be my bridesmaids..i know of cards and stuff but do any of you know something that might be a little different but nice kind of like a DIY type of thing...let me know thanks

There is a place in the city where you could paint a pottery piece. It might be nice to make a piece of pottery for each girl: This is the website.

Some other ideas are to maybe make a montage with pics of you and each girl and upload it on a cd with a song.

I've also seen somewhere (just can't remember right now) where you can personalize a puzzle with a picture and wording like 'will you be my bridesmaid' and send it to your girls.

I actually asked the girls by sending them baskets of ediable arrangements. They each got choc cover strawberries.



The guys we asked them by personalizing a poem onto wine bottles for a keepsake. The wine was very tasty actually.

ahh that is so cute!

i made them cards n decorated them in my theme (black &white &sunflowers)

and then got black tote bags and some fabric paint and put Bridesmaid & Matron Of honor and for the o's of MOH i glued fake engagement rings and for the bridesmaids i did the circle part of the i...

they came out cute im almost finished with all of them and then ill post pix...

i also bought them black & white journals and 2 yr personal calendar's.. i think thats it for now i want to get them the shirts but i want them to wear them at the rehersal dinner or bach party so im going to wait to give them to them

Oh no. I just said 'you KNOW you have to be in my wedding.'

I hang my head in shame, as the official worst bride ever.

For one bridesmaid, I had inserted scrapbook paper and printed her name and the poem below into a BRIDES magazine. Then, I asked her if she wanted to looked through the magazine for wedding gowns with me. When she turned to the page, her mouth dropped. She started crying. :)

Nothing would gives us

At my engagement party, I asked my FSIL (who is also getting married in a few weeks). Her FH (my brother) is going to be in the party as well. So, we framed a similar poem to the above one and told them that we had a present for them b/c we figured they were under a lot of stress with the wedding lately. They were very surprised and touched. :)

Then, I asked my FH's sister. She is 8 months pregnant, so I got her a cheap photo album (8 pages for photos- 1.50 in Michaels). I wrote a poem specifically for her and put a line on each page. She was so touched and couldn't believe how sneaky I was about how I asked her, hehe. :)

In just a few short months your new baby boy will change your whole life.
And in one quick year, your brother will say 'I do!' to his brand new wife.
Your new baby boy will require much love and good care…
Most times, you will realize you don’t have a moment to spare!
But even though this new baby will leave you with no time for play…
We really do hope that you can stand by us on our wedding day.

Lastly, I asked my two cousins (sisters) together. I did the same thing as I did for the first bridesmad, but asked them if they wanted to see a picture of my dress. So they were all excited! I turned to the page before and said, 'What do you think of this dress?' So they were like, 'Oh, it's so pretty!' Then, I turned to the next page (One poem on each side) and said...'Or how about this one?' They started yelling, 'Of course, of course!!!'

So, my opinion...definitely personalize it. These women are going to be in your wedding party, so they are obviously the most important women in your life. Show them just how special they are to you.

i just flat out asked them

my sister was a hard sell LOL
she didn't want to but i told her all she had to do was dress up and stand there so she was ok with it then
