I need opinions

This is my situation. My husband and i were married in city hall five years ago. We are now planning to have the big wedding with all the aspects of a traditional wedding like if it was the first time. my question is can we still have showers and register for gifts? It's not like we have a lot of things anyway but we would register for things that we don't have. What do you guys things? I know that with a renewal, you pretty much make your own rules.

I think that's fine, especially if you didn't have a shower when you first got married! You deserve one, it's not like your second marriage.

I think that it is fine. Just because you didn't get married and have the reception all in one day, doesn't mean that you shouldn't get all the benefits of being a bride including the gifts.
