What would any of you do if someone from your FH's side....a relative (not too close) got engaged 2 weeks ago and thinking about the possibilty of booking their wedding the same day as you and AT THE SAME HALL..in the other room.....how would you handle this...or take it??????

Re: I need opinions
I would definitely be ticked off. I mean its bad enough booking the same day when they're aware that is the day of your wedding, but to then book the same reception place? NO GOOD!
First off, people in the family will basically be having to choose between which wedding to RSVP to, which is unfair and will cause family problems. But also, they're going to be going back and forth from wedding receptions.
I'm sorry, but NO. Not acceptable. And i can be ballsy enough, where i'd call them and let them know your concerns. But thats just me.

Re: I need opinions
Thanks girls for all of your support. Like i had said prior, the only guests that would be mutual were my FH's parents and maybe 2 more people...The thing is the father of the bride that is booking the wedding is my FH's godfather. I don't know...i think this takes the cake....I mean at first i was a little upset that they were thinking of booking their wedding 6 days prior to our date (considering that we booked soooo long ago and they got engaged 2 minutes ago), but then that the are now considering booking the SAME date and then when i found out the same hall...I really wanted to throwup I should find out tom. what happened...i will definately let you all know. (I was hoping she was a LI wedding bride so she would see all of the responses to the situation and come to her senses... but no such luck!

I understand that they may choose an earlier date than you- FH and I are getting married a few months before friend's of ours who had their hall booked for 2 years now (we are in each other's BP) and made sure that we had a few month's buffer. They appreciated that we did this but we went with an earlier date bc it worked for us...
Despite that-obviously this couple doesn't have a special date in mind so they can at LEAST move it to another date. At least most of your guest won't overlap. Someone should remind them that you are having your wedding there at that date and that it might be nice for them to put their's off at least a week or two! I don't know how I'd handle this situation! I'm sorry you're going through this!

Re: I need opinions
Why would anyone want to do that.
They would be inviting everyone that is going to your wedding well on your FH's side.
People would be torn at where to go.
Everyone knows your wedding is already booked and that FH's relative is doing the wrong thing!
